Bei der Einrichtung nach dem Patent 107462 besteht der Uebelstand, dafs der Kran c nicht in beliebig grofser Entfernung vom Bugkran angebracht werden kann, weil sich sonst Schwierigkeiten beim Herüberholen des Ankers von dem Bugkran nach dem Seitenkran c ergeben. Andererseits ist es aber wünschenswerth, den Anker möglichst weit achtern, wo das Schiff eine gröfsere Breite hat, zu Wasser zu lassen, damit er unter allen Umständen beim Ankern vom Schiffsboden frei kommt. Zu diesem Zweck soll der im Haupt-Patent vorgesehene feste Seitenkran c durch einen beweglichen bezw. fahrbaren oder auch schwenkbaren Kran, Baum oder dergl. ersetzt werden, welcher so dicht, als es die Bugconstruction des Schiffes zuläfst, an den vom Bugkran aufgeholten Anker heranbewegt wird und diesen alsdann in gleicher Weise, wie beim Haupt-Patent, vom Bugkran abnehmen kann.
