Zum Unterschiede von den bisher bekannten Stufenschaltern, bei denen das Stromschliefsen und Stromöffnen einer der angeschlossenen Lampengruppen nur unter Stromschliefsen oder Stromöffnen der anderen angeschlossenen Lampengruppen möglich ist, ist in der vorliegenden Erfindung ein von der anderen unabhängiges Schalten der einen Lampengruppe erreicht und ferner ein gleichzeitiges Schalten beider Lampengruppen erzielt. Der Schalter besteht aus den beiden auf seiner Achse über einander liegenden Schaltstücken b und c, welche von der Achse aus durch Mitnehmer angetrieben werden.
