Verfahren zum Färben von aus Acrylnitrilpolymerisaten, Vinylidencyanidpolymerisaten bzw. aus Mischpolymerisaten derselben mit anderen Vinylverbindungen hergestellten Gebilden mit kationischen Farbstoffen Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zum Färben von aus Acrylnitrilpolymerisaten, Vinylidencyanidpolymerisaten bzw. aus Mischpolymerisaten derselben mit anderen Vinylverbindungen hergestellten Gebilden mit kationischen Farbstoffen. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man das Färben in Gegenwart von Benzimidazoliumverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel durchführt, in der R, und R3 für aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffreste und R2 für einen aromatischen, araliphatischen oder einen heterocyclischen Rest stehen, während Z ein Anion, vorzugsweise Cl, Br oder O - S02 - OCH3, bedeutet. R, ist zweckmäßig ein aliphatischer Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit mindestens 8 Kohlenstoffatomen. PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zum Färben von aus Acrylnitril-Vinylidencyanidpolymerisaten bzw. polymerisaten. aus Mischpolymerisaten derselben mit anderen Vinylverbindungen hergestellten Gebilden mit kationischen Farbstoffen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man das Färben in Gegenwart von Benzimidsteigert die Temperatur des Bades auf 98°C und hält das Bad etwa 1 Stunde auf Kochtemperatur. Es wird eine helle Blaufärbung von ausgezeichneter Gleichmäßigkeit erhalten.
