Description
Process for the production of reticulated, open-meshed, permanently elastic Nonwovens The invention relates to a method for the production of single or multi-layer, reticulated, open-meshed, non-woven, permanently elastic fiber mats and bodies, in which the individual fibers remain elastic in the hardened state Binder coated and connected at the crossing points or by so-called Steppes are kept in association.
It is already known that hair, e.g. B. crimped pig bristles and Similar fibers, in an open-meshed form by spraying with rubber or also to be gummed by dipping in it. It is also known to spray binders or with foam formation in the interstices of an open-meshed body of hair or similar fibers of the same type to penetrate.
It is also known to be reticulated, open-meshed, but layered to manufacture resilient bodies of larger dimensions in all three dimensions have roughly the same structure and have a woolly fluff interspersed with their properties Foam rubber come close. In this manufacturing process, sheep's wool, e.g. B. in the form of raw wool, waste shredded wool and the like, plucked on a conventional tearing machine and carded into a thin, open-meshed fleece. The single fleece or a Smaller number of such continuously superposed nonwovens are from one Side sprayed with binding agent, dried and then from the other side as well treated. The single or multiple fleece produced in this way can be diluted into a Binder dispersion dipped and after draining off the excess liquid be dried, which is technically difficult to do. The pre-treated fleece, which up to now can only be produced up to a thickness of 6.4 mm is on it superimposed in several layers to the desired thickness, the layers glued together with an elastic binding agent. The one connected to one body Fiber mass is then subjected to an aftertreatment in order to solidify the binder and, if desired, easy to deform, e.g. B. in rubber latex a vulcanization possibly under light molding pressure.
Have the products made by this known method good damping and suspension properties with relatively low weight and good suspension resistance. The process has the disadvantage that the nonwovens can only be produced in a very thin form, so that only a small capacity achievable or large investments are required. The thin fleece must be dry here so that they are removed from the rubber solution during the subsequent wetting be penetrated. The wetting takes place preferably by means of atomization of one Side, from top to bottom. Only the material of the random fleece is used wetted, which is at the most favorable angle of impact in relation to the direction of spraying. By the nozzle pressure undesirably compresses the upper side of the fleece and becomes less as a result permeable. Therefore, the binder distribution increases in the direction towards the inside of the web away. The decisive disadvantage of this known method is that the so produced Fleece layers do not achieve the desired uniform, three-dimensional effect and are not uniformly elastic in themselves. These disadvantages will be too in the subsequent layer formation (layering) and possibly through the additional Immersion procedure not resolved. There is even a risk of being too intense Wetting the curl of the fluff suffers and the curls or crimps stretch or that gaps are filled by the binder. Through this the three-dimensional effect can be severely impaired or completely canceled.
These disadvantages are eliminated according to the invention in that at the continuous production of a permanently elastic, reticulated and open-meshed Fiber fleece as starting material those already with rubber and / or similar, Fibers that remain elastic after curing are coated and shaped be used. Fibers that are either naturally occurring are particularly suitable for this out or artificially curled. As coating materials, for example Dispersions of natural and / or synthetic rubbers or their Derivatives are used, e.g. B. based on polyvinyl chloride or polyurea.
As fiber material can be advantageous for the method according to the invention Sheep wool, animal, vegetable or similar fibers or their waste, e.g. B. use wool. Also suitable are cellulose fibers, casein fibers or synthetic fibers that do not contain any copper or manganese components, provided the binder is natural rubber. The fibers used are provided they are not are already crimped, subjected to crimping prior to their treatment or processing. The fiber material is expediently washed before processing in order to keep it natural Remove the fat content of animal wool or the processing fats from waste. Treatment with known wetting agents is also useful in order to obtain a well-adhering, to achieve even coating. Example wool knitting waste is torn, washed, dried and then wetted with a coagulant. The damp ones Fibers are placed in an aqueous bath containing 10 to 20% rubber milk brought in. Here, the individual fibers cover each other with a uniform, finely distributed layer of the coating agent. Straighten the fibers treated in this way when they dry up again and form a tangled conglomerate, which is common Wool ripping machines can easily be broken up again into its individual fibers without that the stack length is shortened.
The impregnated fibers prepared in this way are now transformed into modern ones Carding machines or fleece formers with an output of up to 130 kg / h in itself known way an open-mesh, non-woven fleece of up to z. B. 50 mm Starch produced, which then on one or both sides with a binder solution is sprayed. For this purpose, this is expediently already used to coat the fibers coating agents used, such as rubber milk or dgL, in a different concentration or another binding agent that remains elastic in the cured state is used. Wetting agents and coagulants are advantageously added to the binder. It is sprayed from nozzles with an expediently very high pressure, so that the binding agent reaches the inside of the fleece, the penetration being supported by air suction can be. Since the binder now only has the task of the already coated Gluing fibers together at their points of contact is the amount that is sprayed on Binder low. Thereafter, if necessary, thermal curing takes place of the binder, if necessary under low deformation pressure. Depending on the speed During the run, temperatures between 105 and 130 ° C are used.
The method according to the invention avoids the disadvantages of previously known method and also achieves the following advantages: It can without separate layer formation in a possibly continuous operation with simultaneous and even wetting, a fiber fleece of any thickness be produced, which gives an optimum of three-dimensional effect. That Product has excellent pressure, rebound and permanent elasticity and is therefore it can be used advantageously for upholstery purposes. It's not just for laminating or pricking out other upholstery materials, but can be considered self-supporting Product similar to e.g. B. rubber coconut, rubber hair, synthetic foam, foam rubber is used will.
