Dadurch wird die Wandung 26 des zu fertigenden Behälters, die -wie aus dem linken Teil der Fig. 1 der Zeichnung zu erkennen ist - auch an den Begrenzungsflächen der von den stirnseitigen Flächen 32 und 33 der Formwandteile 10 und 11 und den beweglich angeordneten Bodenteilen 12 und 13 begrenzten Erweiterungen anliegt, gepreßt, so daß aus der im Profil etwa U-förmigen Erweiterung 34 des Behälters (Fig. 1 der Zeichnung, linker Teil) der massive, umlaufende Rand 35 entsteht (Fig. 1, rechter Teil). Die Stärke des Randes 35 hängt dabei, abgesehen von der ursprünglichen Dicke der Wandung 26, von dem Ausmaß der Pressung ab, welche das die U-förmige Erweiterung34 bildende Material erfährt. Der Druck kann so bemessen sein, daß der Rand etwa die doppelte Stärke der Wandung 26 aufweist. Wichtig ist, daß die Stauchung vor dem völligen Hartwerden des das Werkstück bildenden Materials erfolgt. Gegebenenfalls kann die Kühlung und Verfestigung noch durch ein in Kanälen25 umlaufendes Kühlmittel beschleunigt werden. Nach der durch die Bodenteile 12 und 13 bewirkten Pressung werden die Zugbolzen 15 und 16 von den Federn 27 und 28 in ihre in Fig. 1 links dargestellte Ausgangslage zurückgedrückt, sobald der Hebel 21 oder die Exzenterscheiben 22 entsprechend gesteuert werden.
