Die Grundplatte α besitzt in der Mitte eine Oeffnung, in welche sich eine Kugel g hineinlegt. Die Kugel läfst sich zwischen Ring b und Grundplatte α in beliebiger Lage festlegen, wie dies beispielsweise in Fig. 1 punktirt gezeigt ist. Durch die Schraube f regulirt man den Druck der Pelotte ρ auf die Bruchstelle, und der Arzt oder Bandagist hat es in der Hand, auf der Bruchstelle genau denjenigen Druck hervorzurufen, welcher zum Zurückhalten des Bruches erforderlich ist, und dessen Stärke bekanntermafsen von Fall zu Fall gänzlich verschieden sein kann. Es ist auch je nach der Thätigkeit des das Bruchband Tragenden, wie die Erfahrung es gelehrt hat, wünschenswerth, dafs der Druck auf die Bruchstelle verschieden ist.
