Description

Polyester resin cover sheet and process for its manufacture The invention relates to a cover sheet made of polyester resin with embedded decoration for the surface finishing of building panels made of wood or similar flat substrates and to a method for producing this cover sheet.

Melamine resin panels provided with a decoration are known. The disadvantage The main thing about these plates is that they are only made in high pressure presses can and are therefore limited in their dimensions. You also have foils made of unsaturated polyester resins with embedded decor, namely printed paper, printed textile fabric, micro wood foil, etc., produced according to the pressureless processing of unsaturated polyester resins in long strips can. The disadvantage of these polyester resin decorative films is based on the fact that to achieve a hard, as possible abrasion-resistant surface with unsaturated Polyester resins must be worked, which proportionally after their complete polymerization result in brittle products. Therefore, such brittle decorative films can be glued Condition on flat surfaces, sudden shock or impact loads are not elastically intercept, so that it is very easy to tear under such loads the slide can come.

These disadvantages are avoided in the invention in that the Foil on the top made of hard, abrasion-resistant polyester resin and on the base facing underside consists of flexible polyester resins, with within the cross-section of the film shows a gradual transition from hard to soft consistency the polyester resins is present.

There is a suitable method for producing these cover sheets according to the invention in that an optionally printed decoration made of textile fabric, Paper, glass or wire cloth with an unstable mixture of hard, specific light is impregnated with flexible, specifically heavy polyester resins and that the richly soaked decor only after a time sufficient for separation, during which the hard, lighter polyester rises to the surface and the flexible, heavier polyester after the bottom of the decor drops, between two per se known endless, profiled or chrome-plated guided over rollers Steel belts moved through continuously with the application of pressure and heat the running speed of the belts and their length are adjusted so that that the sheet-like product is fully polymerized when it emerges from the steel belts.

According to the proposal according to the invention, the separation is allowed to take place and the subsequent polymerisation on the embedded decor takes place, with the decor facing up. The previously by vigorous stirring or other Medium homogenized unstable resin mixture segregates before polymerization so that the finished plate has a structure soft to hard from bottom to top.
