Evaporative Oil Burner The invention relates to an evaporative oil burner
in the form of a pot with an electric glow ignition element that also acts as an evaporator.
erforderlich machen. In a known evaporation oil burner of the type mentioned, this is
Incandescent ignition element arranged in the stream of an oil vapor-air mixture during operation.
During the ignition process, the glow ignition element serves to supply an amount of oil to it
first to vaporize and then to ignite. There is a risk that
the ignition element is temporarily flooded or oil droplets come into contact with it
come. The oil cracks when it comes into contact with the hot glow ignition element and forms
Cracking residues that require frequent replacement or cleaning of the glow ignition element
make necessary.
In another known construction, a glow ignition element is in the form
a heating coil at such a large distance from the oil level inclined to this
appropriate that the oil is caused by the radiation hitting the oil level alone
would not evaporate sufficiently; it is therefore only partially due to one in the oil
immersing wick sucked in the vicinity of the glow ignition element. But then they form
Cracking residue on the non-submerged part of the wick, which is difficult
are to be eliminated and can interrupt the progress of evaporation, and it
there is a risk of charring this part of the wick.
besteht. An evaporative oil burner is also known, in which the oil is used during
the continuous operation of the burner is passed through a preheating chamber, which is a
Surrounds ignition chamber, in which a rod-shaped Glüheünd'organ is arranged, which the

Ignition process in the direct oil flow, so that even with this design during this

consists.
The invention aims, in the aforementioned construction, in the
the glow ignition organ itself acts at the same time as an evaporator, the risk of the formation of

This results in a particularly simple design of the evaporation oil burner, the
its operational reliability is also increased and its maintenance easier.
In the drawing, a preferred embodiment of the invention is shown by way of example, namely Fig. 1 shows a pot-shaped evaporative oil burner of conventional design partly in section, Fig. 2 shows the glow ignition element used according to the invention partly in section in a larger representation. 1 with the burner pot is referred to, which has openings 2 for the supply of combustion air and the burner ring 3, which causes the most favorable formation of the flame in the usual way. The burner pot 1 has two connecting pieces 4 and 5; the oil feed is connected to one connection piece 4, and the electrical glow ignition element 6 is inserted into the other connection piece 5. The glow ignition element 6 consists, as shown more clearly in Fig. 2, of the contact screw 7, the threaded body 8 and the glow rod 9. Contact screw 7 and threaded body 8 are designed similarly to the spark plug of an internal combustion engine, only that the electrical connection is expediently two-pole so that the ground of the device does not have to be used to return the current. The glow rod 9 is a ceramic rod 10, preferably a fireclay rod, which is fastened with its rear end 11 in the threaded body 8 and at its front end protruding therefrom carries an electrical heating conductor 12 which is coated on the outside with a glaze or engobe 13 that makes it protects and electrically insulates. The two ends of the heating conductor are led to the two poles 14 and 15 of the contact screw 7 .
