Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
This invention relates to a dentifrice, particularly in paste form or in powder or liquid form Form that is suitable for reducing the normal susceptibility of the teeth to attack by acids.
It is generally believed that tooth decay results, at least in part, from the acids formed in the mouth by microorganisms in the course of their metabolism. In contact with the teeth, these acids attack the tooth enamel, dissolve the enamel and cause tooth decay. Much effort has been made to protect the teeth from attack by these acids and numerous proposals have been made to accomplish this task. One proposal has been to use basic ammonium salts in a dentifrice. These are known as "ammoniated" dentifrices. Chlorophyll has also been used in a dentifrice. Then a so-called "antienzyme" was incorporated into the dentifrice, e.g. B. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. While some of these suggestions have proven useful, none have adequately protected the teeth against the destruction of the acids that are formed in the mouth.
It is also already known to use dentifrices with an addition of soluble, organic phosphoric acid esters which, however, do not contain fluorine. However, these dentifrices are nowhere near as effective as caries preventive agents and anti-tartar prevention agents as the dentifrices of the present invention. This can be seen from the clinical comparative tests shown below. Furthermore, dental care products have already been described which contain dibasic ammonium phosphate and urea. The addition of lauroyl sarcosine in the form of soluble salts to dentifrices is also known. The nature of the activity and the physical behavior of these compounds are, however, completely different from the activity and the physical properties of the fluoroalkyl phosphates as envisaged by this invention. The dibasic ammonium phosphates serve as alkaline agents only to neutralize the acids in the oral cavity and thus render the lactic acid bacteria harmless. The salts of lauroyl sarcosine are said to have an anti-enzymatic effect and prevent the fermentative breakdown of carbohydrates in the oral cavity. In contrast to these known proposals, the dentifrices according to the invention which contain fluoroalkyl phosphates are effective in that they are able to prevent the formation of tartar and tooth decay due to their ability to form protective films over the teeth.
Der Erfindung liegt die Entdeckung zugrunde, daß Zahnpflege- und -putzmittel, die als wesentlichen Bestandteil gewisse organische Fluoralkylphosphate und/oder ZahnpflegemittelThe invention is based on the discovery that dental care and cleaning agents, which are an essential component certain organic fluoroalkyl phosphates and / or dentifrices

Tabelle II zeigt die Werte in dieser Form:The results of these experiments can also be expressed by the number of people in each of these three groups who contributed no rounds showed tartar formation to be expressed. Table II shows the values in this form:

D. SchlußfolgerungenD. Conclusions
The agent containing the fluorinated phosphate is much more effective in preventing tartar formation in vivo than that containing the non-fluorinated phosphoric acid ester and that containing no phosphoric acid ester Middle.
