schwer trennbare Emulsionen bilden.Process for filtering fine fuel fractions from the gas flow

The aforementioned disadvantages do not only occur with compressed gas generators,
but also with all other types of gas generators that do not use increased pressure
be operated, and especially with coal and ore or coal-ore briquettes
loaded low-shaft furnaces operated at high wind speeds,
where the cleaning of the light gas laden with coke and Möller dust as well as tar is considerable
Difficulties arise, and the method according to the invention described below
can therefore also be used with advantage in these gas generators.
Already several decades ago it was proposed that in the gas stream a
Dust entrained by the gas generator through a filter layer to hold back that out

of the fuel into a chamber preferably arranged above the gas generator
and periodically or continuously give up the gas generator from the chamber, the
The gas flow leaving the gas generator flowed through the chamber, the dust from the
Gas flow in the chamber can be filtered off and with the fuel in the gas generator

Avoidance of excessive cooling in the smoldering zone immediately after the layer of fire
(i.e. from the gasification zone) to the drying layer (this is the uppermost zone in the
Generator) so that raw lignite or other high moisture content
Fuels are sufficiently pre-dried. The drying zone should be as

only a top fuel layer can be used, which is outside or inside
Generator was formed. It is well known that the fuel column of every gas generator
in which moist fuels such. B. raw lignite, quenched coke, washed
Hard coal or pit-moist hard coal, are gasified, at the top a dry zone,
and it is also known that in all of these gas generators the escaping
Gas stream entrains dust. Because just like the gas flow when flowing through the lower
Layers of fuel column
dragging the dust and a settling
prevents the dust, it also does this in the topmost fuel layer. One
Deposition of the dust could only be achieved if the speed of the gas flow
would be greatly reduced, including extraordinarily large flow cross-sections
and accordingly uses an apparatus of unusually large dimensions
would have to be, which is useless in practice. With the 'above-described,
proposed measures can therefore not hold back the dust in the gas generator.
It has now been found that even with high gasification outputs
the fuels that are present in the charge or that bake when the mixture is stirred
Forming dust can largely be retained in the gas generator when charging
before the task in the gas generator or in the gas generator before reaching the hot
Zone with wetting agents such as tar, oil residues, hydrogenation residues, pitch and the like.
Like., Or mixtures of these substances is mixed. It is important that the encore
the wetting agent takes place at a point where the charcoal is still so low
Temperature that no immediate distillation of the wetting agent takes place,
but these are evenly distributed in the liquid state over the charge,
so that the wetted fuel layer then acts like an oil-wetted dust filter.
The high-boiling products are particularly suitable as wetting agents: It was
also found that a high dust content in the wetting agents themselves is of no consequence
because it does not go into the gas due to its binding to the liquid phase.
Verwendet man also zu geringe Mengen öliger Benetzungsmittel,
However, so that the filter layer can exert its full effect, must
they have a certain minimum amount. This is limited at the bottom by
that as the fuel migrates downward into the gasification zone, wetting agents continue to flow
is distilled off. So if you use too small amounts of oily wetting agents,
so these distill too quickly or become according to their partial pressure
too quickly carried away as vapors by the large amounts of gas passing by. Consequently
the required layer thickness of the wetted fuel layer cannot develop,
and their effect diminishes considerably. It has been found that this disadvantageous phenomenon
this is to avoid that the amount of added wetting agents of the load
the gas generator is adjusted, d. H. the more wetting agents are used,
the higher the power of the gas generator is selected. While at normal performance
a gas generator charged with fine-grained coal a wetting agent additive
of 5% with good distribution is enough to almost prevent dust being entrained in the gas flow
To prevent this completely, the gas generator output can be used with the same freedom from dust
can be increased by well over 50% if the addition of wetting agent to 10%
is increased.
Während man
In diesem
Decades ago it was also a method of increasing the
The calorific value of generator gases from bituminous fuels has been proposed,
in which the tar escaping with the gas from the gas generator is caused by condensation
separated from the gas and returned to the gas generator. While one
up to now the tar had passed into hot fuel layers to almost completely or completely
to achieve a cracking of the tar vapors into gaseous hydrocarbons
and thereby to bring about the desired carburization of the generator gas
in the proposed method those liquid hydrocarbons which
only need a low temperature for cracking into gaseous hydrocarbons,
are not further decomposed by an excessive temperature, while those
Hydrocarbons that are still undecomposed and liquid at this temperature,
in zones with the required higher temperature into gaseous hydrocarbons
should be decomposed. Accordingly, in this process, the liquid tar should
on the coldest point of the carbon dioxide of the gas generator and from
there gradually flow down on pieces of coal at an ever-increasing temperature.
In order to distribute the tar on the fuel as evenly as possible, was further
proposed to use the fuel before introducing it into the gas generator
to pull through a container filled with tar. It was also proposed for the
Carburization not only produced tar in the gas generator, but also foreign tar
to use. As a result of the tar on the coldest zone of the gas generator
supposedly only a small part of the tar fed in should be broken down,
while the rest of the tar evaporates and in the condensation again from the gas stream
should be deposited. This tar should go back to the gas generator with the fuel
and this process can be repeated until the
the entire amount of tar was broken down into gaseous fractions or at least into volatile ones
Liquids whose vapors no longer condense when the gas is normally cooled.
There was no filter effect of the fuel layer wetted with the tar
pointed out, such a thing was still being sought. It is therefore not recognized either
that a layer of fuel wetted with tar entrained the in a gas stream
Retains dust and can act as a dust-separating filter layer. A filter effect
could not occur because the gas generators used at the time,
where the carburizing process described above should be used,
only have so low gasification rates that as a result of the low gas velocities
In any case, hardly any dust was carried along by the gas flow. In contrast, the gas generators
in which the method according to the invention is to be used, many times over
higher gasification capacities and correspondingly several times higher gas velocities,
in which the difficulties outlined at the beginning are due to the dust that is entrained
appear. In addition, the feasibility of the proposed method also appears
doubtful. Because a tar that is in a gas generator from bituminous fuels
distilled off in the hotter zones, entrained uncracked by the gas stream and in

hot zones where it would be cracked. While with the
known carburization process, the tar is constantly fed back into the gas generator
should be in order to be cracked there completely, is in the process according to the
present invention a high-quality, low-dust tar obtained, which is a very
represents a valuable, salable product.
It can happen,
that in the method according to the invention in bituminous fuels the amount of
Tar, which is generated from the amount of fuel given up per unit of time, is smaller
are than the quantities required to wet this amount of fuel. In this
Trap is a multiple of the production amount of tar or tar fractions for wetting
used. However, most of the amount of wetting agent used

expediently returned to the gas generator in the circuit. As already mentioned,
a dust deposited with the wetting agent is bound on the carbon and
does not appear again in the outgoing gas, one used for the return from the
Condensation in the gas generator in particular one by settling or on another

Only a dust-free product is ever removed for sale or processing.
B. Koksgrus, anwendbar. In diesem Falle kann z. B. ein bei der Erdölverarbeitung
anfallendes Rückstandsöl als zirkulierendes Benetzungsmittel verwendet werden. However, the application of the invention is not to bituminous fuels
limited, during the gasification of which the tar used as a wetting agent is continuously generated,
but the method is also advantageous for non-bituminous fuels, e.g.
B. coke breeze, applicable. In this case, for. B. one in petroleum processing
residual oil can be used as a circulating wetting agent.
It was also found that the low temperature of the top

power; The fuel is therefore expediently predried prior to wetting.
The required height of the dust-filtering fuel layer must, if necessary
be created by increasing the filling level in the gas generator.
in gasförmige Zersetzungsprodukte umsetzen. Gerade unter erhöhtem Druck verläuft
diese Zersetzung vorwiegend zu flüssigen Produkten. The addition of the wetting agent also has a beneficial effect
on the quality of the tar obtained. Due to the even distribution of the wetting agent
The tar will largely decompose on the upper fuel layer in the gas generator
avoided. Rather, the gas flow rising from the gasification zone causes a
almost complete, gentle distillation of the wetting agent above the degassing zone.
Therefore, essentially only any existing pitch components of the wetting agent get into this,
which are there again in liquid decomposition products and only to a small extent
convert into gaseous decomposition products. Runs straight under increased pressure
this decomposition mainly to liquid products.
So wirkt z.
It was further found that the formation of a dust-filtering boundary layer
by adding wetting agents is a suitable means to the fuel
Adding catalysts and thus the degassing and gasification process
to influence. The addition of catalysts to the material to be gasified is known per se.
So acts z. B. an addition of alkali compounds, alkalized iron catalysts
or alkalized iron-containing fuel ash in the sense of increasing the methane content
of the gas or in the sense of a faster adjustment of the equilibria in the
Gasification. Such additions of catalysts, especially solid ones, have hitherto been possessed
always the disadvantage that they are carried away by the rising gas stream and at least
were partially withdrawn from the process in the gas generator. Simultaneously polluted
they the condensation products, so that in addition to the cost of such additives also still
the cost of their removal from the condensation products had to be incurred. Will
on the other hand, such catalysts use the oily wetting agents in their aqueous or
Added to the oily phase, they are bound to the fuel in such a way that a
Getting carried away becomes almost impossible. Due to the even distribution and binding to
the surface of the fuel gets by with much smaller additives, so that
their effect is greater. In this way, a considerable increase in calorific value can be achieved
of the gas can be achieved.
