Das Wesentliche der vorliegenden Neuerung besteht in einer neuen Form des Prefsstempels, welche es ermöglicht, unter Anwendung eines bedeutend geringeren Druckes eine gleiche oder höhere Festigkeit von Metallstücken .zu erzielen, wie es mit den bisherigen Stempeln möglich war. Im Princip kennzeichnet sich der neue Stempel dadurch, dafs seine Druckfläche nicht, wie bisher, eben, sondern mit Rillen versehen ist, wie in Fig. 1 und 2 auf beiliegender Zeichnung veranschaulicht ist. Führt man mit diesem Stempel eine Pressung aus, so bilden sich in dem bearbeiteten Material ebenfalls Rillen und Erhöhungen. Nun dreht man den Stempel so, dafs seine Erhöhungen über die Erhöhungen des Hülsenbodens zu stehen kommen (Fig. 3) und führt die zweite Pressung aus. Die Verschiebung der Fasern wird noch gröfser, wenn man die Erhöhungen des Stempels excentrisch auf die Erhöhungen des Bodens wirken läfst, so dafs sich das Material hauptsächlich nach einer Richtung hin verschiebt (s.
