Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
The splitting of the end of a bristle into a multitude of fine capillaries also gives one in itself hard and resilient bristles have the property of being a cutlery material for soft brushes, brooms, Special brushes and the like to be used. The slitability, how to get this property one Called bristle, is both with natural hair and fibers (e.g. horse hair and coconut fiber) and with a few synthetic fibers known. On the other hand, however, it is known that various synthetic bristles (e.g. polyvinyl chloride bristles) do not have this ability to be slit. But also made of polyvinyl chloride slitable bristles can be produced by adding 0.5 to 9% polystyrene to this polymer and this mixture is shaped into bristles by means of an extrusion press (see German Auslegeschrift 1 014 521). The bristles obtained by this method can be slit zAvar, but have different Disadvantages, such as B. a high resilience and a low electrostatic chargeability on.
It has now been found that slitable bristles with very good technological properties can be obtained from polyvinyl chloride Properties can be obtained by using polyvinyl chloride in powder or granular form before processing into bristles 0.5 to 15%, preferably 3 to 8%, polycondensates of ω-aminoundecanoic acid, based on polyvinyl chloride, and this mixture is shaped into bristles.
The bristles according to the invention are distinguished by very good slitability. Furthermore they become unusually highly electrostatically charged when rubbing. This property is just for a cutlery material important for brooms, because the charged bristles are able to remove dust, ash, etc. to tie. The dirt can then be removed by shaking or washing the broom will.
According to the invention is carried out with an addition of 0.5 to 15%, preferably with an addition of 3 ° to 8 ° / o of polyamide of the ω-amino-undecanoic acid, based on polyvinyl chloride. If the polyvinyl chloride is processed in granulate form, the addition of the polyamide of ω-amino-undecanoic acid is expediently also carried out in the form of granules, the grain size of which is as close as possible to that of the polyvinyl chloride granules. When processing polyvinyl chloride powder, the polyamide of the ω-amino-undecanoic acid must also be added as a powder, possibly also as particularly finely ground granules. Care must be taken that the melting and the deformation of the mixture taking place before the deformation is carried out in a protective atmosphere, e.g. B. is carried out under nitrogen.
AlsThe wires obtained in this way are then stretched at temperatures between 80 and 100 ° C. as

The splitting of the ends of the bristles according to the invention is most expediently carried out in a known manner Slotting machine.
Sie laden sich beim Reiben elektrostatisch stark auf und sind in der Lage, Staub und Schmutz zu binden.100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride with a K value of 60 are used with 1 part by weight of the stabilizer acting dibutyltin bis-thioglycolic acid-2-ethylhexyl ester and 1 part by weight of glycerol monooleate mixed, Rolled at 100 ° C for 10 minutes and then granulated (edge length of the granulate about 3 mm). 8 parts by weight of polyamide of ω-aminoundecanoic acid are mixed with 100 parts by weight of this granulate in granular form.
