An den Schnittflächen solcher Drähte bzw. aus solchen Drähten hergestellter Drahtgeflechte hat jedoch die Luft freien Zutritt zum Kerndraht, so daß die Gefahr besteht, daß von der Schnittkante aus unter dem Kunststoffmantel ein Verrosten des Kerndrahtes einsetzt. B. den Spanndrähten eines Maschendrahtes, der gespannte Draht erst am Verwendungsort abgeschnitten wird, ist das bekannte Verfahren auch hier nicht anwendbar. Auf diese Weise wird eine vollkommen dichte Umhüllung des Kerndrahtes erzielt und ein Verrosten desselben verhindert.
