Description
Solutions of synthetic surfactant compounds, especially synthetic detergents, are also available fairly thin when concentrated. As examples of such synthetic surfactants may be mentioned: the sulfuric ester salts of higher primary or secondary fatty alcohols, the so-called Fatty alcohol sulfates, such as. B. the mixture of sulfuric acids known under the trade name Teepol Ester salts of secondary alcohols with 10 to 18 carbon atoms, ammonium or triethanolamine lauryl sulfate, the alkali salts of paraffin sulfonic acids, alkylarylsulfonates, z. B. dodecylbenzenesulfonate, nonionic surface-active substances, such as those used, for. B. by action from epoxyethane to higher fatty acids, higher fatty alcohols or alkylated phenols, and other.
For some purposes it would be desirable to use solutions of these synthetic surfactants would have a higher viscosity or a more oily character. Attempts have been made to achieve this goal by adding Achieve thickeners. However, many of the common thickeners are unsuitable because they are, in particular in concentrated solutions of synthetic surface-active substances, do not dissolve sufficiently. It It was therefore proposed to use polyvinylpyrrolidone as a thickening agent, which is found in solutions dissolves various synthetic detergents excellently. It has also already been suggested that the thin-bodied Solutions of synthetic detergents, such as. B. of fatty alcohol sulfates and alkylarylsulfonates, with others surfactants, e.g. B. with the diethanolamides of higher fatty acids to thicken the themselves are very viscous. In order for the viscosity to be increased appropriately, relatively large amounts of these are used expensive fabrics needed.
Surprisingly, it has been found that different ethers are distinguished from Johamnisbrotgummi Dissolve in solutions of synthetic surfactants and even small additives reduce the viscosity of both dilute as well as concentrated solutions of these substances increase considerably. Appropriate ether of locust bean gum are the water-soluble simple or mixed alkyl ethers, e.g. B. the methyl and ethyl ethers. Preferably however, oxyalkyl ethers of carob gum are used according to the invention. the Oxyalkyl ethers can in a known manner by the action of epoxyalkanes such. B. epoxyethane, Epoxy-l, 2-propane, epoxy-l ,, 2-propanol-3, and butylene oxides or chlorohydrins, such as ethylene and propylene chlorohydrin, can be obtained on locust bean gum.
Ionogene Carboxylgruppen vermindern jedoch die Löslichkeit der Johannisbrotgummiäther in Lösungen synthetischer Waschmittel, weswegen Johannisbrotgummiäther, deren Äthergruppen überwiegend oder ganz Herstellung von verdickte wäßrigeIonic carboxyl groups, however, reduce the Solubility of locust bean gum ether in solutions of synthetic detergents, which is why locust bean gum ether, whose ether groups predominantly or entirely produce thickened aqueous

Im allgemeinen nimmt dieconsist of ionogenic carboxyl groups, such as. B. the carboxymethyl ethers, are not expediently used.
The solubility of the locust bean gum ether in solutions of synthetic detergent according to the invention used depends on the Verätherangsgrad of the rubber, of the pH value and the concentration of the solution and on the amount and type of electrolytes present in the solution. In general, the
Da der erforderliche Prozentsatz an Verdickungsmitteln nur sehr klein ist, können aufThe solubility of the ethers increases with the degree of etherification, and they dissolve better in neutral or acidic solutions than in alkaline solutions. A particular advantage of the additives to be used according to the invention of water-soluble locust bean gum ethers is that they can be used in relatively small amounts, e.g. B. from 0.5 to 5 ° / 0 , based on the liquid product, cause a considerable increase in viscosity. Such thickened solutions of synthetic detergents can be processed in a simple manner on drying rollers to give dry products of a pleasant appearance and good solubility in water, and the invention therefore also relates to the production of these dry preparations. Since the required percentage of thickeners is only very small, you can use

diese Weise synthetische Waschmittel in trockener Form erhalten werden, die einen hohen Gehalt an wirksamem Stoff aufweisen.in this way synthetic detergents can be obtained in dry form, which have a high content of effective Exhibit fabric.
There are already foaming agents made from starch ethers and / or esters, starch alkyl and oxyalkyl ethers known that contain both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups in a certain ratio and also used as a thickener for concentrated solutions of sulfuric acid ester salts of higher primary or secondary Fatty alcohols have been recommended, but are not useful because their solubility in Solutions of synthetic detergent substances is too low. It was therefore surprising that the corresponding Carob gum ether is excellent for this purpose.
The invention is explained in more detail by means of the following examples.
To produce a water-soluble ethyl ether from locust bean gum, 2000 parts by weight of the gum are treated in a known manner in a closed container with 1100 parts by weight of ethyl bromide in the presence of the equivalent amount of alkali and the ether formed is dried in the usual way. 20 parts by weight of Äthyläthers of locust bean gum to be a mixture of sulfuric acid Estersalzen secondary alcohols having 10 to 18 carbon atoms, whose content is of active substance 21 ° / 0 mixed with 1000 parts by weight of a neutral solution.
After the locust bean gum ether has swelled well in this solution, a obtained completely homogeneous viscous, transparent solution. The thickener separates, even after a long time Stand, don't back out of solution.
