Gewöhnlich sind die Nähmaschinentische von beschränkter Ausdehnung, so dafs zum Auflegen von Scheeren, Nadelkissen u. dergl. ein übriger Platz nicht vorhanden ist, und es ist deshalb oft bei der Arbeit an der Nähmaschine nothwendig, einen anderen Tisch zu Hilfe zu nehmen, wodurch aber wieder leicht die Werkzeuge und Gegenstände, welche zur Arbeit nothwendig sind, verlegt werden. Um diesem Uebelstand abzuhelfen, ist gemäfs vorliegender Erfindung ein zusammenklappbarer Hilfstisch an dem Tisch der Nähmaschine befestigt, dessen Plattentheile einseitig oder allseitig mit überstehenden Rändern versehen sind, so dafs nach dem Zusammenklappen die Tischplatte als ein geschlossener Kasten erscheint. Ein derartiger Hilfstisch kann fest an dem Tisch der Nähmaschine angebracht werden, so dafs er auch im zusammengeklappten Zustande eine Verlängerung des Nähmaschinentisches bildet, oder er wird mittelst Scharniere an dem Nähmaschinentisch angebracht, so dafs er, zusammengeklappt, an der Seite desselben als Kasten herunterhängt.
