Abstract

In a papermaking process a coloured coating agent is prepared by mixing dry chalk and china clay powder with liquid in a continual process. The ingredients are surrendered to a mixing tank (7) from which the coating agent is discharged as slurry. The dry powder ingredients are dispersed in liquid by shear forces and are subsequently discharged by pump (14) action. The slurry is further treated by a dispersing machine (22). Also claimed is a commensurate assembly.
