Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines umfänglich geschlossenen Hohlprofils (2) mittels fluidischen Innenhochdruckes, wobei ein Hohlprofilrohling (7) in eine Gravur (10, 12) eines Innenhochdruckumformwerkzeuges (5) eingelegt und danach mechanisch in eine der Endform des Hohlprofils (2) angenäherte Zwischenform (11) gepresst wird, wonach bei geschlossenem Werkzeug (5) mittels des Innenhochdruckes die Zwischenform (11) des Rohlings (7) in die Endform des Hohlprofils (2) aufgeweitet wird. Um die Herstellung eines vorzuprofilierenden Hohlprofils (2) in relativ einfacher Weise prozesssicher zu ermöglichen, wird vorgeschlagen, einen Rohling (7) zu verwenden, der hinsichtlich seiner Umfangslänge Übermaß zu der Umfangslänge der Umformwerkzeuggravur (10, 12) besitzt.
