Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schattiermatte, wie sie als Sonnenschutzdecke zum Schattieren der Flächen
von Gewächshäusern, Frühbeeten u. dgl. vorzugsweise im Gartenbau verwendet wird. Derartige Matten
hat man bisher aus Jute, Zellstoffaser, Kokosfaser, Polyvenylchloridfäden gewebt. Gemäß der Erfindung
besteht das Gewebe der Matte aus Sisal. Die Erfindung beruht auf der Erkenntnis, daß eine aus diesem
Material gewebte Matte aus Fäden von etwa 1,5 bis 2 mm Stärke (600 m wiegen 1 kg) hergestellt und
mit einer Maschenweite von etwa 4 mm gewebt ein Optimum an Schattenwirkung und damit an pflanzenphysiologischer
Auswirkung mit einem Optimum an Festigkeit, Witterungsbeständigkeit und damit Lebensdauer
sowie ein Optimum an Handlichkeit in sich vereinigt und dabei preislich trotz seines an sich
höheren Preises auf die erhöhte Lebensdauer bezogen mit den bekannten Matten konkurrieren kann. Es hat
sich nämlich nach sorgfältigen Untersuchungen gezeigt, daß bei der genannten Fadenstärke die gewünschte
Maschenweite zu erzielen ist, womit nicht nur die optimale Schattierwirkung erreicht wird, sondern
auch die Handlichkeit beim Auf- und Abrollen, ein ausreichend leichtes Gewicht, ein Minimum an
Materialaufwand unter Wahrung einer um ein Mehrfaches erhöhten Lebensdauer. Alle diese Komponenten
stehen in wechselseitiger Wirkung zueinander und bedurften einer sorgfältigen Berücksichtigung, da sie
insgesamt für den Gärtner wesentlich sind. Dazu kommt noch, daß die Eigenschaften große Unterschiede
aufweisen, je nachdem, ob trockenes Wetter oder Regen herrscht. Die neue Sisalmatte klebt auch
in feuchtem Zustand nicht an den Glasdachunterlagen und kann infolgedessen auch naß rasch auf- und abgerollt
werden. Sie besitzt auch eine beachtliche Frostschutz wirkung. Bei einer Lichtstärke von
54 000 Lux im Freiland und einer Lichtstärke unter Glas, nicht schattiert, von 45 500 Lux ergab die neue

Verstärkungsstreifen sind in gewissen Breitenabständen vorgesehen, z. B. in 60 cm Abständen bei
einer 180 cm breiten Mattenbahn. Diese Streifen haben eine Breite von rund 2 cm und enthalten zweifach
gezwirnte Fäden und ergeben zusammen mit der dichteren Webung eine vierfache Verstärkung. Diese

Matte erzielt als auch eine flächige Auflage der leichten Stäbe auf der Matte. An jedem Mattenlängsende
