Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
In the manufacture of air space insulated coaxial lines, it is practically inevitable that the abutting edges of the Außenlei terbandes each other during wrapping processes rub and occasionally copper flakes are created, which get into the interior of the air space insulation. Such flakes can lead to a significant reduction in the dielectric strength and make the line unusable under unfavorable circumstances.
In order to prevent such harmful effects of the tinsel, measures have become known that to prevent the penetration of copper flakes into the insulating air space. All these known measures consist in between the insulating air space and the outer conductor to arrange a practically closed layer of insulating material. In a known embodiment If the insulating material layer consists, for example, of a longitudinal band, which by means of a suitable Device is formed into a closed tube. The closed layer of insulating material can but also - as is known - be formed from a wound insulating tape. A disadvantage must be these precautions the use of special equipment, such as winding or spinning machines, be felt.
Bevorzugt werden schmale Isolierstoffbänder aus Polyäthylen verwendet, da diese gegenüber Polystyrolbändern nicht nur den Vorteil einer rauhen Oberfläche Luftraumisolierte koaxiale LeitungThese and other disadvantages are the subject of the invention in the case of the airspace-insulated coaxial line is and in which the outer conductor consists of a tubular bent metal strip and the Butt joint of the abutting edges of the outer conductor strip is covered on the inside, eliminated. The invention consists in that a narrow, superficially rough one running longitudinally under the butt joint Isolierstoffband is arranged. To prevent metal flakes from entering the insulating It is sufficient air space if the width of the insulating tape is of the order of about a quarter the width of the outer conductor strip. By using a narrow strip of insulating material compared to the known cover layers, not only the cost of materials and thus also the attenuation reduced, but also facilitated the production. A narrow, as thin as possible, insulating tape hugs the surface of the outer conductor particularly well. In addition, the rough surface of the insulating tape the advantages that it is on the one hand on the inner surface of the outer conductor adheres well, i.e. cannot slip so easily, and on the other hand holds in place any metal tinsel. Preferred Narrow polyethylene insulating tapes are used, as these are compared to polystyrene tapes not only the advantage of a rough surface air space insulated coaxial line

However, the insulating tape can also be composed of two tapes arranged one above the other be, of which the lower as a support band, preferably made of polystyrene and the one above it made of polyethylene.
With such a protective measure against the penetration of metal flakes, the for the known precautions necessary devices to produce a closed layer of insulating material. Rather, the coaxial line according to the invention can be produced in a simple manner be carried out in such a way that the insulating strip is axially parallel when the outer conductor strip is shaped runs into the forming tool for the outer conductor, the butt joint of the outer conductor in the Comes to rest in the middle of the insulating tape.
There are air space-insulated coaxial lines with a tubular metal band as Outer conductors known, in which special profile strands in the butt joint of the tubular metal strip are arranged with preferably double-T-shaped cross-section, so that they are between the edges of the bent metal band and also encompass the edges of the metal band. These profile strands do not need to be made of insulating material, but can also be made of metal be. The profile strands should provide a mechanical stability of the tubularly bent metal strip> can be achieved. A protection of the insulating air space against the penetration of metal flakes is neither intended nor given in the arrangement of these known profile strands.

In the drawing, 1 is the inner conductor and 2 the disk-shaped spacers applied to the inner conductor, for example by injection molding designated. On this spacer, the outer conductor strip 3 is shown in FIG. 1 by means of an in the Figure not shown in detail forming tool rolled up. Simultaneously with the shaping of the Outer conductor tape, the insulating tape 4 is laid out over the spacers, which according to the Fig. 2 is enclosed by this after the shaping of the outer conductor strip, wherein it the butt joint5 of the outer conductor strip from the inside.
The invention is not limited to that shown in the figure Embodiment limited. It is essential for the invention that not as with the known Execution of the entire inner surface of the outer conductor strip from a closed layer of insulating material is covered, but only the butt joint and the immediate vicinity of a narrow strip of insulating material.
