Process for the catalytic hydrogenation treatment of hydrocarbons

these substances may contain, is on sulfur-resistant catalysts with hydrogen
or gases containing hydrogen, e.g. B. town gas, long-distance gas or natural gas carried out.
According to the invention, a hydrogen-rich gas is used as the hydrogen-containing gas

towards the end of the cooking time methane or methane-containing gases, e.g. B. natural gas, digester gas
or town gas, through the glowing coke, the methane is split up
and the remaining hydrocarbons in hydrogen and carbon instead, whereby
the hydrogen content of the gas is increased significantly. It is useful that

While the production gas of a gas works z. B. has the following composition: CO, -E- H2 S. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.6

A particular advantage of the gas used according to the invention is that it is free of resin formers, so that the catalysts used have a much longer service life than before, and that deposits and other deposits in the lines, heat exchangers and catalysts hardly or only in one occur to a very small extent.
For carrying out the catalytic hydrogenation treatment of
Hydrocarbons, e.g. B. for catalytic refining, results from the
Invention has the further advantage that one can manage with much smaller amounts of gas
as before. While in the previously known method z. B. this amount of gas
the refining of crude benzene around 200 to 300 m3 / t of hydrocarbons to be refined
50 to 70 m3 are now sufficient. The compression costs are correspondingly reduced
and the cost of any catalytic pretreatment that may be required
of the gas.
So brauchen beispielsweise
Another advantage is that the amount of gas that comes from refining
is released as residual gas, is relatively small. So need for example
at a
Fresh gas requirement of 50 to 70 Nm 'per ton to be refined
Hydrocarbons only repelled about 10 to 30 Nm3 as residual gas, for example
be returned to the gas works, where they are expediently added to the raw gas
can.
The catalytic hydrogenating treatment can also be carried out in a conventional manner
Way to be carried out. So is catalytic refining in a well-known manner
carried out using the reactors and catalysts developed for this purpose
and leads to a very extensive removal of the sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen compounds
from the hydrocarbons to be refined. Likewise is the destructive hydrogenation
of tars or distillation residues from petroleum processing and the like with the after
the method according to the invention used on hydrogen-rich gas mixtures
carried out in the manner customary in such procedures.
The most varied of embodiments of the method can be used here.
For example, you can use the gas by adding steam or in some other way,
z. B. by catalytic pretreatment, make it more suitable for the reaction.
Hydrierverfahren vorteilhaftere Verbindungen umgesetzt. In all cases, the residual gas that is discharged from the reaction,
can also be used in such a way that it is passed through a coking chamber
in which the cooking is already well advanced or nearing its end.
The mixture of the gas introduced and the hydrogen-rich gas produced during this period
Gas can be used again according to the invention. When passing through the hot
Coke is used in particular for the gas components that are inert for the catalytic reaction,
such as methane, other hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide or the like. In for the catalytic
Hydrogenation process more advantageous compounds implemented.
