Um dem Durchgangsbalg gegenüber den planen Paneelen der Seitenwandverkleidung eine freie, zieharmonikaartige Bewegung zu ermöglichen, müssen die starren Paneele der Seitenwandverkleidung und die jeweiligen Seitenwände des Durchgangsbalgs hinreichend weit voneinander beabstandet sein. Dadurch ergibt sich eine beträchtliche Verringerung der lichten Weite des tunnelförmigen Durchgangsbalgs. Auch die optisch unschön erscheinenden Schrägen (P) und (P') des Dachhimmels (75) wirken sehr beengend.
