Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a rear seat bench for a motor vehicle with at least two seat shells which are movable relative to a fixed bench structure supporting the seat shells, a backrest element and a headrest element. The invention further relates to a motor vehicle with such a rear seat.

A rear seat bench with seats that can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction is, for example, from the DE 10 2005 024 541 B3 known. Further examples of adjustable seats or seat shells for rear bench seats can be found in the DE 27 18 242 A1 and the DE 28 03 574 A1 shown.

For comfortable travel on a back seat, it is common practice, especially in motor vehicles with a higher standard of construction, to provide two individually shaped rear seats, which are completely separated from each other in the middle in the area of the seat as well as in the area of the backrests and headrests. The rear seat areas are often separated from each other in the respective foot area, for example by a continuous center console. Accordingly, two occupants in the vehicle at the same time tend to travel separately from each other. In particular, the separate design of the rear seats makes communication with body positions facing each other difficult.

The object underlying the invention is to provide a rear seat in which the above disadvantages can be avoided.

This task is solved by a rear seat with the features of patent claim 1 and by a motor vehicle with the features of patent claim 10.

What is proposed is a rear seat for a motor vehicle with at least two seat shells that are movable relative to a fixed bench structure supporting the seat shells, a backrest element and a headrest element. The backrest element is designed to be continuous in the width direction of the rear seat bench, such that a single, common backrest element is provided for the at least two seat shells. It is provided that the headrest element is designed to be continuous in the width direction of the rear seat, such that a single, common headrest element is provided for the at least two seat shells.

By means of the continuously formed backrest element, which is not interrupted or divided in particular in the middle, an opening of the space is achieved in an upper area of the rear seat, so that communication between occupants sitting in a respective seat shell is facilitated. Furthermore, the continuous backrest element is structurally simpler and cheaper to manufacture compared to conventional individual backrests. By means of the continuously formed headrest element, which in particular is not interrupted or divided in the middle, an opening of the space is achieved in the upper area of the rear seat, so that communication between occupants sitting in a respective seat shell is facilitated.

At least two adjustable support elements can be provided in the backrest element, with each seat shell being assigned a support element. The support elements can be rotatable relative to the backrest element about a respective axis of rotation running in the width direction. It is also conceivable that the support elements are additionally or alternatively designed to be displaceable relative to the backrest element, and in particular their height can also be adjusted. Despite the continuous, common backrest element, an individual sitting position of an occupant in the relevant seat shell can be ergonomically improved by the support elements.

The backrest element can have two lateral torso holding sections which are arranged on the respective outer sides of the continuous backrest element. In particular, the fuselage holding sections can be curved or curved. The torso holding sections enable an occupant to comfortably align his body in a corner region of the rear seat, in particular so that he is at least partially facing another occupant on the rear seat.

A console can be arranged between the two seat shells, behind which the continuous backrest element runs. Such a console can serve as a kind of table and/or it can accommodate controls for the occupants, such as controls for entertainment electronics.

The headrest element can have two side headrest sections which are arranged on the respective outer sides of the continuous headrest element. In particular, the head holding sections can be curved or curved. This allows occupants to rest their heads in a comfortable position. In particular, the head holding sections enable an occupant to comfortably align his body in a corner region of the rear seat, in particular so that he is at least partially facing another occupant on the rear seat.

The headrest element can be connected to the backrest element and/or the bench structure by a support element arranged centrally in the width direction. The support element can, for example, have two inclined support sections on which the headrest element is mounted.

The headrest element can protrude on both sides of the support element, such that the side head holding sections are designed to be cantilevered. This ensures that there are no supporting structures in the area of the head holding sections that could be perceived as a disturbance when sitting comfortably.

The adjustable support elements can be adjustable depending on a sitting position of an occupant and/or depending on a position of the seat shell in question. For example, the rotation about the axis of rotation in the width direction can be passive, i.e. it can be aligned depending on the body position of an occupant. Alternatively, the rotational position of the support element can also be adjusted from a longitudinal position of the seat shell. For example, when the seat shell is moved as far forward as possible, the support element can have its lowest gradient.

A motor vehicle can be designed with a rear seat bench described above, the bench structure being connected to a body of the motor vehicle.
