Description

The present invention relates to a container for holding a building material such as plaster, cement, mortar or plaster, as well as a method for producing such a container.

In the construction industry, craftsmen use generic containers to hold plaster, cement, mortar or gypsum or other building materials and make them available at a processing location, for example scaffolding on a building. The building material is then removed from the container using a trowel, for example.

So that appropriate ladles can be placed on the container, they have an S-shaped handle so that the handle can be placed on the edge of the container with one turn. Such attachment has been common practice for many decades.

The disadvantage of the known containers is that the trowel or other tool is only held on the container by clamping forces or frictional forces. If the craftsman hits the container, the trowel or other tool falls off the container. This is particularly serious if the container is on top of a scaffolding and the trowel or tool then falls down from the scaffolding.

In the case of paint cans and paint buckets, it is known to provide them with a small magnet in the area of the upper edge, so that a brush can be held at the upper edge with the magnet. The background is that the brush should be kept on the inside of the edge if possible so that the remaining paint can run from it back into the receiving space of the can or bucket. Since such a brush has a straight handle, it is not possible to attach the brush to the edge. The present invention is based on the object of providing a container for holding a building material of the type shown at the beginning, in which the problem of a trowel or other tool held on the container falling down, which is attached to the edge as is conventional, is no longer or no longer the case is easily possible. Furthermore, a manufacturing process for producing such a container should be specified.

The object according to the invention is achieved by a container and a method according to the independent claims. The dependent claims describe advantageous and particularly useful embodiments of the invention.

A container according to the invention for holding a building material such as plaster, cement, mortar or gypsum, these building materials being mentioned only as examples, has a floor and a wall standing on the floor, which encloses a receiving space which is correspondingly closed from the floor at one end and has an opening at an end opposite the bottom.

The opening is enclosed by an edge of the wall.

According to the invention, a magnetic tape running along the edge is now provided in or on the wall in the area of the edge, in particular directly on the edge, which at least essentially completely encloses the opening.

For example, the magnetic tape can extend by more than 300°, preferably by more than 350° or completely, that is, by 360°.

It is not mandatory for the magnetic tape to be designed as a closed ring; the ends facing one another can be more or less close to one another in the circumferential direction.

According to one embodiment, however, the magnetic tape is designed as a closed ring.

With the solution according to the invention, a trowel can not only be attached to the edge of the container, but it is also held on the edge by the magnetic force of the magnetic tape. Since the magnetic tape extends at least essentially completely around the opening along the edge, it is possible to hold the trowel or another tool at any point on the edge.

At least the wall is preferably made of plastic. The wall and the base are advantageously made of plastic.

In an advantageous development of the invention, the magnetic tape is more or less integrated into the wall. The magnetic tape is preferably enclosed on all sides by the wall, which means there are no surface areas of the magnetic tape that are not covered by the material of the wall.

For example, the magnetic tape can be cast into the wall, i.e. it can be inserted into a corresponding mold during the production of the wall using the casting process and the material of the wall can be cast around it.

In order to be able to make the wall comparatively thin and at the same time generate sufficient magnetic force with the magnetic tape, the magnetic tape preferably has a height in the direction from the bottom to the opening that is a multiple of the thickness of the magnetic tape in the direction radially or perpendicular to the wall.

The invention can be provided, for example, in a bucket with a cylindrical or conical receiving space. According to a further exemplary embodiment, it is also possible to design the container as a bucket with a cubic or cuboid receiving space.

In a method according to the invention for producing such a container, the magnetic tape is, as explained, immediately cast into the wall when the wall is produced. For example, the wall is made of plastic using an injection molding process.

The invention will be described below using exemplary embodiments and the figures.

The magnetic tape 7 is in particular completely integrated into the wall 2 and, as can be seen from the enlarged schematic detail a, has a height h which is a multiple of the thickness d.

The magnetic tape 7 exerts a holding force on a metallic trowel (not shown here) attached to the top of the edge 5, which prevents the trowel from slipping down from the edge 5.

The container is, as a rule, with the exception of the handle 6, made of plastic, for example, in particular cast. The magnetic tape 7 can be cast with the plastic immediately when the wall 2 is produced, for example by injection molding.

In the embodiment according to 2 the container is designed as a bucket. The bucket also has a base 1, a wall 2, a receiving space 3 with an opening 4, which is enclosed by an edge 5 of the wall 2. This time there is no handle provided, but this is not mandatory.

In the area of the edge 5, a magnetic tape 7 is provided which runs along the edge 5 and is at a small distance from the edge 5.

Of course, the magnetic tape 7 could also be provided directly on the edge 5, just like the magnetic tape 7 in the design according to 1 could be provided at a distance from the edge 5.

Although the magnetic tape 7 has a rectangular cross-section in the figures, other cross-sectional shapes are possible, for example an elliptical cross-section or a circular cross-section.
