Description
The invention relates to a plastic composite cover. The use of covers made of glass materials is currently preferred for a variety of reasons. On the one hand, the coolness felt when touched is perceived as pleasant to the touch and the high transparency of the glass material and the grace of the surfaces created by it is usually perceived as very valuable by the viewer. Disadvantages are the comparatively expensive production and the weight of such covers, in particular when the cover must have a certain thickness so that three-dimensional surface contours can be integrated into the cover. In addition, the risk of breakage and the associated formation of splinters result in a not inconsiderable risk of injury, so that the integration of covers made entirely or partially of glass materials in the area of the dashboard in motor vehicles is prohibited. The production of a cover from plastic entails the risk that the cover, in particular in the case of comparatively thin and extensive covers, exhibits tension, which quickly leads to unsightly cracking.
Against this background, there was a need for a method for producing a generic plastic composite cover which is comparatively light, durable and has a high-quality appearance that at least comes close to that of glass materials. This object is achieved by a manufacturing method according to
The invention relates to a method for producing a plastic composite cover, in particular for a motor vehicle. According to the invention, a step of arranging is provided in which a first plastic film is arranged in a first shaping tool such that a first cavity is formed between the first plastic film and the shaping tool. The term plastic film is to be interpreted broadly, so that only a film-shaped substrate made of a plastic, such as a thermoplastic, preferably a polycarbonate, is mandatory, which can also be coated, for example metallically coated by vapor deposition, anti-reflective, scratch-resistant or abrasion-resistant can be coated increasing.
According to the invention, the first plastic film is subsequently back-molded in a first thermally shaping process step with the introduction of a first thermoplastic, such as polycarbonate, into the first cavity in order to produce a partial-layer structure as a molding, the partial-layer structure comprising the first plastic film and a first through the first thermoplastic Has formed layer, and the first layer on the side facing away from the first plastic film defines an outer boundary surface of the partial layer structure.
In a subsequent demolding step, for example after the surface solidification of the first layer or later, an at least partial demolding of the previously produced molding takes place.
In a subsequent step, the molding and a second plastic film are arranged in a second shaping tool with the formation of a second cavity formed between the interface and the second plastic film. The second shaping tool preferably contains parts of the first shaping tool. The term plastic film is also to be interpreted broadly with regard to the second plastic film, so that only a film-shaped substrate made of a plastic, such as a thermoplastic, preferably a polycarbonate, is mandatory, which can be additionally coated, for example metallically coated by gas phase deposition, anti-reflective, can be coated to be scratch-resistant or to increase abrasion resistance.
Erfindungsgemäß erfolgt ein zeitlich nachfolgendes Hinterspritzen der zweiten Kunststofffolie in einem zweiten thermisch formgebenden Verfahrensschritt unter Einbringen eines zweiten Thermoplasts, wie eines Polycarbonats, in die zweite Cavität, um den Teilschichtaufbau um eine zweite Schicht aus dem zweiten Thermoplast und um die zweite Kunststofffolie zu ergänzen, um einen Schichtaufbau als Kunststoffverbundabdeckung zu erhalten, bei dem zwischen der ersten Kunststofffolie und der zweiten Kunststofffolie über die Grenzfläche aneinandergrenzend die erste Schicht und die zweite Schicht angeordnet sind;According to the invention, the second plastic film is subsequently back-molded in a second thermally shaping process step with the introduction of a second thermoplastic, such as a polycarbonate, into the second cavity in order to add a second layer of the second thermoplastic and the second plastic film to the partial layer structure to obtain a layer structure as a plastic composite cover, in which the first layer and the second layer are arranged between the first plastic film and the second plastic film over the interface adjacent to one another;
In a subsequent step, carried out for example after the surface solidification of the second layer or later, the plastic composite cover is removed from the mold. Additional surface processing or surface finishing steps and / or steps, for example for removing the sprue parts and Burrs may be provided on the plastic composite cover. Steps are also conceivable in which the first and second plastic films located in the composite of the plastic composite cover are coated for the first time or additionally after removal from the mold. It has been shown that the method according to the invention can be used to produce durable, comparatively light and yet extensive and additionally tension-free covers which also have optically attractive properties and whose haptic and external visual appearance can be adjusted almost at will by appropriate coating of the outer films at a reasonable cost is.
In a preferred embodiment, the first thermoplastic and the second thermoplastic and at least one film made from the first plastic film and the second plastic film are translucent, preferably transparent. In one embodiment, the first plastic film defining a visible surface facing the viewer, such as the vehicle occupant, is transparent, while the plastic film facing away from the viewer can be coated with an overall translucent and / or partially opaque coating by choosing a translucent material or a translucent coating. Preferably, at least one film made of the first plastic film and the second plastic film is coated in a metallic translucent manner, for example by gas phase deposition, such as chemical or physical gas phase deposition or sputtering or so-called non-conductive vacuum metallizing (NCVM). The coating is preferably carried out in a step preceding the respective arrangement step.
In one embodiment, it is provided, for example, that an optically visible transition remains at the interface between the first and second layer and that the first and second thermoplastic differ in composition or optical properties such as coloring or in optical transmittance. However, a match in the composition or the optical properties of the first and second layers is preferred. Most preferred is a match in both composition and optical properties.
In one embodiment, the first and second plastic films are flat in the demolded plastic composite cover. For optical reasons, the first plastic film and / or the second plastic film and / or the interface preferably form one or more three-dimensional contours, preferably in each case a contour formed from flat surfaces. This allows optically attractive light-refracting effects to be set that make the cover appear more attractive.
According to a preferred embodiment, the contours of the first plastic film and the second plastic film, preferably the first plastic film and the second plastic film and the interface are designed to follow one another. This means that the contours, without necessarily having to assume a strictly parallel course, are designed in such a way that they strive for a parallel course, that is to say a uniform thickness of the plastic composite cover is aimed for. For example, the first plastic film is convex, while at a corresponding point the second plastic film is concave with respect to the respective adjacent layer.
The method is preferably designed in such a way that, after removal from the mold, at least the first layer and the second layer are materially connected. Even preferably, the first plastic film is materially bonded to the first layer during back injection molding and the first layer is materially bonded to the second layer during back molding of the second plastic film, while the second layer is also bonded to the second plastic film.
It is preferably provided that a maximum distance, determined by means of a perpendicular on the interface, between the first plastic film and the second plastic film is at least 10 times, preferably at least 20 times, even more preferably at least 30 times, smaller than a maximum extent of the Interface is.
In back molding, during the first thermally shaping process step and during the second thermally shaping process step, the first thermoplastic or the second thermoplastic are preferably injected in a direction parallel to the interface.
The invention also relates to a plastic composite cover for a motor vehicle with a layer structure. According to the invention, the layer structure has a first plastic film and a second plastic film. The layer structure furthermore has a first layer made of a first thermoplastic, arranged adjacent to the first plastic film, and a second layer made of a second thermoplastic, arranged adjacent to the second plastic film. The first layer and the second layer are arranged adjacent to one another, forming a common interface, and the interface extends between the first plastic film and the second plastic film and at a distance from these two films.
It has been shown that the plastic composite cover according to the invention is particularly durable, comparatively light and yet can be extended without showing strong internal tension. In addition, it can have visually attractive properties. Their haptic and external visual appearance can easily be adjusted by appropriate coating of the outer foils and in almost any way at a reasonable cost.
