Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Schneiden und/oder Raspeln von Lebensmitteln in Würfel-, Scheiben- oder Streifenform sind in Vorschubrichtung des Lebensmittels hintereinander wenigstens ein Magazin für das zu schneidende Lebensmittel, eine Schneideeinrichtung und ein Querschneidemesser (1) vorgesehen. Das Querschneidemesser (1) weist einen Klingenabschnitt (3), ein mit dem Klingenabschnitt (3) verbundenes Versteifungselement (4) und eine Vorrichtung (2) zur Beeinflussung der Planheit des Klingenabschnitts (3) auf. Die Vorrichtung (2) zur Beeinflussung der Planheit des Klingenabschnitts (3) weist wenigstens ein auf das Versteifungselement (4) wirkendes Stellelement (6) auf, das über eine Stange (8) mit einem zumindest mittelbar mit dem Schneidmesser (1) verbundenen Lagerungselement (7) in Wirkverbindung steht.
