Erfindungsgemäß wird eine Queranordnung einer Reihen-Brennkraftmaschine mit mindestens 5 Zylindern vorgeschlagen, in dem ein geeignetes achsenparalleles, optional elektrifiziertes Getriebe verwendet und die Brennkraftmaschine selbst maximal verkürzt wird. Die Anbindung an das Getriebe erfolgt über einen Quertrieb, ähnlich wie sie in der noch nicht veröffentlichten Patentanmeldung DE 10 2017 221 775.8 beschrieben ist. Idealerweise, d. h. für bestmöglichen Massenausgleich wird eine Reihen-Sechs-Zylinder-Brennkraftmaschine im Motorraum quer eingebaut, die keine freien Massenmomente aufweist. Hierdurch ergibt sich die bestmögliche Laufruhe der Brennkraftmaschine im Kraftfahrzeug. Die Brennkraftmaschine mit mindestens 5 Zylindern in Reihe verfügt über ein maximal verkürztes Kurbelgehäuse. Auch durch den Entfall eines Riementriebs wird erheblich Bauraum eingespart. Als weitere Maßnahme wird ein Torsionsschwingungsdämpfer auf der Kurbelwelle im Kurbelraum integriert, so dass eine nochmalige Verkürzung der Brennkraftmaschine erzielt wird.According to the invention, a transverse arrangement of an in-line internal combustion engine with at least 5 cylinders is proposed, in which a suitable axially parallel, optionally electrified transmission is used and the internal combustion engine itself is maximally shortened.
