The object of the present invention is to adapt the spring characteristic of a shock absorber for a bicycle efficiently and comfortably.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
The above object is achieved according to the independent claims.
The shock absorber according to the invention for a two-wheeler has a housing with a first piston and a second piston and an electrically controllable actuator. Inside, the housing has a compressed air chamber between the first piston and the second piston. The first piston is connected to a wheel of the bicycle and is adapted to be moved in response to forces on the wheel. The compressed air chamber is advantageously closed, whereby the air in the compressed air chamber is compressed during the movement of the first piston, that is, the air pressure in the compressed air chamber increases. An increased air pressure in the compressed air chamber advantageously produces a spring force counteracting the impact force. The air in the compressed air chamber thus acts advantageously as a spring element of the shock absorber. The actuator is connected to the second piston and configured to move or position the second piston in response to a desired spring characteristic category. The actuator is for example an electric motor, a magnetic actuator, a piezoelectric element and / or an electroactive polymer. The actuator may alternatively be a valve system for the hydraulic or pneumatic actuation of the second piston. By moving the second piston by means of the actuator or by changing a position of the second piston, the compressed air chamber volume is changed. Due to the changed compressed air chamber volume, the spring characteristic of the shock absorber is adjusted because the air in the compressed air chamber at a reduced compressed air chamber volume during the movement of the first piston is more compressed and therefore results in the same movement distance of the first piston, an increased pressure in the compressed air chamber. This results in the advantage that the shock absorber according to the invention has an adjustable by means of the actuator spring characteristic. The spring characteristic is further advantageously set while driving and / or quickly adapted to a route. The adjustment can advantageously be made in response to an input of the cyclist.
Preferably, the shock absorber on a switchable valve, which is adapted to change an air pressure of the compressed air chamber. Advantageously, the valve is adapted to compensate for a pressure difference between a side of the second piston facing the compressed air chamber and a side of the second piston facing away from the compressed air chamber. For example, the valve is arranged on the housing in a channel surrounding the second piston. The switchable valve has the advantage that the air pressure in the compressed air chamber and / or in a cavity of the housing behind the second piston can be changed. By changing the air pressure in the compressed air chamber and / or the cavity behind the second piston, the movement of the second piston by means of the actuator is more efficient. This results in the advantage that the shock absorber is quieter and a lower weight of the shock absorber results because an actuator power or the resulting Aktorabmessungen are smaller.
The invention also relates to the control method for adjusting the spring characteristic of the shock absorber. In one step of the control method, a desired spring characteristic category of the shock absorber is determined. Subsequently, a control of the actuator to move the second piston in response to the desired spring characteristic. By the movement of the second actuator, the compressed air chamber volume is changed, whereby the spring characteristic of the shock absorber is adjusted. The control method has the advantage that the spring characteristic of the shock absorber is set, for example while driving and / or adapted quickly to a driving situation.
In one embodiment of the control method, in a further step, an air pressure in the compressed air chamber in dependence on the desired Federkennlinienkategorie means of the switchable Valve changed. This provides the advantage that the control method is efficient and quieter.
In a preferred embodiment, a brake actuation is detected by the control method and the desired spring characteristic category is determined as a function of the brake actuation. As a result, for example, when a brake actuation is detected, a nominal spring characteristic category with an increased gradient or a more progressive desired spring characteristic category is determined, as a result of which the compressed air chamber volume is subsequently reduced by means of the actuator. In this embodiment, there is the advantage that when braking results in a more progressive spring characteristic, whereby a pitching motion or a rotational movement of the bicycle is reduced to the transverse axis of the two-wheeler.
In an alternative embodiment, the control method detects current location coordinates. The desired spring characteristic category is then additionally determined as a function of the current location coordinates and the map coordinates associated with the location coordinates. By this configuration can be advantageously achieved that the spring characteristic of the shock absorber is reduced in a piece of forest by means of the actuator and increased on a road by means of the actuator, that is, the spring characteristic is automatically adapted to a ground condition of a route.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the control method detects an ambient temperature. The activation of the actuator is then additionally in dependence on the ambient temperature. Since the air pressure is temperature-dependent, can be done in this embodiment advantageously a temperature-independent adjustment of the spring characteristic.
In a further development of the invention, the control method detects at least one camera image. The nominal spring characteristic category is subsequently additionally determined as a function of the camera image, in particular as a function of an obstacle detected in the camera image. For example, in the case of a curb detected in the camera image, a reduced nominal spring characteristic category is determined and adjusted as an obstacle, so that advantageously when crossing the curb the shock absorber has a linear spring characteristic. For example, the obstacle in a camera image is determined by known image analysis or object detection methods.
The invention also relates to the control device which is adapted to perform the control method for adjusting the spring characteristic of the shock absorber. The control unit determines the desired spring characteristic category by means of a computing unit and generates a control signal as a function of the desired spring characteristic category. It can be provided that the control unit generates an optional switching signal for opening the switchable valve as a function of the desired spring characteristic category.
In a preferred embodiment, the control unit detects a brake actuation by means of a sensor on a brake device of the two-wheeler and determines the desired spring characteristic category of the shock absorber in dependence on the brake actuation.
In an alternative embodiment, the control unit detects the current location coordinates by means of a location sensor, for example a GPS sensor. The location sensor is advantageously arranged in the control unit. In this refinement, the desired spring characteristic category is additionally determined as a function of the current location coordinates and the map coordinates associated with the location coordinates, the map data being stored, for example, in a memory of the control device.
In a continuation, the control unit can capture at least one camera image by means of a camera. The camera is arranged, for example, on the bicycle and / or the control unit. In this embodiment, the control unit additionally determines the desired spring characteristic category as a function of the camera image, for example as a function of a detected obstacle in the camera image by known image analysis or object detection methods.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, the control unit detects an ambient temperature by means of a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor may advantageously be arranged on the shock absorber and / or on the bicycle and / or in the control unit. In this embodiment, the control unit additionally generates the control signal as a function of the ambient temperature.
The invention also relates to the two-wheeler with the control unit and the shock absorber.
