Aus der Offenlegungsschrift DE 10 2011 052 558 A1 ist eine gattungsgemäße Befestigungseinrichtung für ein wandhängendes Klosettbecken bekannt. Die Befestigungseinrichtung wird mit einem Halter an Gewindestangen befestigt, die in einer Wand verankert sind. In dem Halter sind zwei Tragelemente derart beweglich angeordnet, dass sie in dem Halter zur Wand hin, beziehungsweise von der Wand weg bewegt werden können. Jedes der Tragelemente verfügt über ein keilförmiges Eingriffelement, das seitlich über die Tragelemente übersteht und gegen die Kraft einer Feder in die Tragelemente hinein verschoben werden kann. Zur Montage wird das Klosettbecken auf die Befestigungseinrichtung aufgeschoben, so dass die keilförmigen Eingriffelemente zunächst von den Seitenwänden des Klosettbeckens gegen die Kraft der Federn in die Tragelemente hineingeschoben werden. Beim weiteren Aufschieben gelangen die Eingriffelemente in den Bereich von Aufnahmeöffnungen in den Seitenwänden des Klosettbeckens. Die Eingriffelemente werden durch die Federn in die Aufnahmeöffnungen gedrückt, in denen sie formschlüssig Halt finden. Das Klosettbecken ist mit der Befestigungseinrichtung verbunden. Um das Klosettbecken weiter gegen die Wand zu bewegen und es planmäßig gegen die Wand zu verspannen, werden zwei Schrauben mit kegelförmigen Spitzen in den Halter eingeschraubt.
