Description
The present invention relates to a water collecting box according to the preamble of claim 1, which can be permanently connected tightly to an inlet pipe.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
While rainwater that falls on gable roofs, is passed over the pitch in rain rings, this is not possible with flat roofs with surrounding parapet. For the discharge of rainwater either water courses are provided on such flat roofs, which are led through the parapet or the flat roof has roof outlets. The rainwater taken in by the roof outlets is partly channeled into the house's sewage system, but usually led away from the building by pipes running through the outside wall. Both these pipes and watercourses must be connected in a watertight manner to a downpipe running down the outside of the building wall. For this purpose, a water catcher is provided, which is also referred to as rainwater catcher or gutter boiler. This is a case of a metal sheet fastened to the exterior wall of the building. This has on its underside an outlet opening which is connected to the rainfall pipe. An inlet opening, through which a watercourse or the drainage of a roof drain can be led into the water catcher, is located at the rear side. A seal between the water supply and the inlet opening is usually done today by means of silicone. However, this silicone seal ages and needs to be renewed periodically. Failure to do so may cause water at the back of the water box to escape therefrom and enter the wall of the building when water is in the water box or when the inlet pipe is horizontally aligned with its exterior wall.
In order to prevent a backwater of rainwater on the flat roof, water collecting boxes are open at the top, so that the top can act as an emergency overflow. However, if the water catcher overflows, the overflowing water can run down the building wall. Also laterally incident on the water catcher rain can be directed by this on the building wall zoom. Both can lead to a moisture penetration of the outer wall.

Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a water catchment box which can be permanently connected tightly to an inlet pipe. Ideally, this water catcher should also be designed so that from the water catcher overflowing rainwater or from the outside of the water catcher incident rain from a building wall, where the water catcher is attached, is directed away.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
This object is achieved by the water collecting box according to the invention with the features of claim 1. This has a lower wall, which has an outlet opening. Furthermore, it has a front wall, a rear wall and a plurality, in particular two, side walls. The rear wall has an inlet area made of a rubber membrane.
The inlet area can be connected to the back wall by various methods. The compound is inventively in particular by vulcanization, d. H. by hot vulcanization or by cold vulcanization, by gluing or by means of a flange connection possible. Each of these connection methods is suitable for providing a strong connection between the rubber membrane and the rear wall, which, like the lower wall, the front wall and the side walls, consists in particular of a metal sheet.
In order to connect the inventive water collecting box with an inlet pipe, it is provided that at least one circular inlet opening is arranged in the inlet region. However, this inlet opening does not have to be introduced into the inlet area during the production of the water catching box. Rather, this can also be delivered without an opening in the inlet area. It is then possible when installing the water box on site to cut a circular inlet opening in the inlet region, whose diameter can be adapted to the diameter of the inlet pipe to be used.
It is preferred that in the inlet opening an inlet pipe is inserted, whose Outer diameter is greater than the diameter of the inlet opening. When such an inlet pipe is inserted through the inlet opening, the rubber-elastic rubber membrane deforms in the region of the inlet opening, so that the edges of the inlet opening are pressed firmly against the inlet pipe. Even if the rubber membrane ages over time and loses elasticity, it still exerts an even lower pressure on the inlet tube, so that the connection between the inlet port and the inlet tube remains tightly closed. Unlike the conventional seal with silicone so according to the invention a permanent tight connection can be created.
The rubber is preferably an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber), a CSM (chlorosulfonated polyethylene) or a mixture of EPDM and CSM. CSM is particularly preferred here. These plastics combine well with a metal sheet by means of vulcanization, are rubber-elastic and have a high resistance to UV radiation, so that they do not lose their rubber elasticity even when sunlight falls on the rubber membrane through the top of the water box.
The inlet area should occupy a sufficiently large portion of the back wall to allow circular inlet openings to be cut for all common inlet tube diameters. In addition, it can occupy only a small part of the rear wall or form the majority of the rear wall, so that the remaining area of the rear wall consists only in a frame which serves to connect the rest of the water box with the rubber membrane of the inlet area.
It is preferred that the side walls each have an upper edge which forms an angle of more than 90 ° with the front wall and which in each case forms an angle of less than 90 ° with the rear wall. Furthermore, it is preferred that the side walls each have a lower edge, which forms an angle of less than 90 ° with the front wall and which forms an angle of more than 90 ° with the rear wall. Thereby, the upper edge and / or the lower edge of the water collecting box are inclined from the rear wall in the direction of the front wall downwards, so that water that overflows through the top of the water trap box or impinges from the outside on the side walls of the water box, to the front wall of the water catching box and to be directed away from a building to which the water catcher is attached.
Although a chamfer of the lower edges of the side walls is preferred, it is not preferred that also the lower wall of the water box is chamfered. Rather, the bottom wall forms with the rear wall preferably at an angle of 90 °, so that in the water catcher initiated rainwater can flow through the outlet opening into a downpipe without collecting in a portion of the water catcher box.
Preferably, an outlet pipe is already firmly connected to the outlet opening. This makes it easier to connect this to a downpipe when installing the water trap.
Furthermore, it is preferred that the water collecting box has a top wall, which is designed as a grid. This top wall prevents the outlet opening of the water catcher from being clogged with leaves and nesting birds. At the same time, the grid is permeable to water, so that the top of the water catchment box can continue to function as an overflow.
