The invention has for its object to provide a comparison with the prior art improved exhaust system for a fuel cell powered vehicle.
The object is achieved by the features specified in
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
An exhaust air system for a vehicle powered by fuel cells, in particular a bus, has a water collection container, which comprises an exhaust duct and a discharge opening for the outflow of water located in the water collection container. According to the invention, a valve connected to a control unit is arranged at the discharge opening, which can be controlled in such a way that the discharge opening opens and closes as a function of a driving speed of the vehicle.
Since the valve is controllable, the water from the water collection container is particularly preferably drained while the vehicle is being driven, so that puddling and consequent ice formation on a road surface can be largely avoided, especially at temperatures below the freezing point.
By controlling the valve, the water can be deliberately drained from the water collecting container, so that the risk of freezing of the exhaust system is substantially reduced. Thus, it is not necessary that the water tank is frost resistant and must be thawed before driving.
Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.

A water content in the exhaust air of the bus is comparatively high, the water both as water vapor, ie gaseous, as well as liquid Water is present and is led out of the bus via the exhaust air system.
Since such a bus requires a relatively large amount of energy due to its weight, relatively much water. Especially in winter, the amount of water released can be problematic. For example, mist may form due to low water absorption capacity of the ambient air and there is a risk of puddling and / or ice formation on a road surface, in particular in the region of a bus stop. For example, passer-by and passengers on the bus may also feel insecure due to puddling on the road surface, as there may be an assumption that the bus is damaged.
Furthermore, the mist formation can lead to the uncertainty of passers-by and passengers and in particular to obstructions of sight for a driver of the bus and other road users.
