Abstract

The headrest (10) has two opposite support pads (12, 13) supporting head (15) of a person in side regions. The support pads are arranged at front ends of a neck pad (14). The neck pad is integrated into back of a vehicle seat (11). The support pads are pivotably arranged over a transverse axis and a longitudinal axis of the vehicle seat. The support pads are automatically moved in lateral regions of the head. The supporting pads are parallely arranged to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle seat. The supporting pads are secured at a carrier element.

Description

  • The invention relates to a headrest for a vehicle seat with a neck pad.
  • Headrests are known from the prior art, with which the neck area of a person's head can be supported by the neck pad. However, these can not support the head laterally when sleeping, so that the head can tilt sideways, which is quite uncomfortable for the person. A remedy for this are neck pillows, which reduce the lateral tilting of the head but only slightly. These neck pillows must also always be carried separately and thus needed storage space for storage.
  • The invention has the object to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages in the future.
  • The invention solves this problem with a headrest of the type mentioned, which according to the invention comprises two opposing support pads to support the head of a person in its side areas. Thus, the head can be supported laterally during sleep, so that the comfort for the person is increased. The head can be supported in particular in the area of the face cheeks and / or the lower jaw and / or the ears.
  • The two opposite support pads can be arranged on the front sides of the neck pad. In this embodiment, the support pads and the neck pad can be combined into one unit. The support cushions then no longer required a storage space. If the neck pad is height adjustable, so the opposite support pads can also be adjusted in height.
  • In another embodiment, the two opposing support pads on at least one guide element, along which the neck pad is adjustable in height, are arranged laterally of the neck pad. The support cushions are thus retrofittable and can be removed if necessary. Between the guide element and the two support pads, a holder for mounting the two support pads can be provided on the guide element. In addition, the support pads can also be moved along the guide element and thereby the most comfortable position can be adjusted according to the respective head height of a person. The guide element may conveniently be a tube.
  • The neck pad can also be integrated in a backrest of the vehicle seat, so that the neck pad and the backrest form a unit.
  • If the opposing support pads flow smoothly into the neck pad, they also form a unit with the neck pad. This creates a particularly appealing design.
  • Conveniently, the support pads can be pivoted about axes transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle seat. Thus, it is possible to pivot the support pads to adjust their ideal position about the height axis of the vehicle seat and / or about the transverse axis of the vehicle seat.
  • In a further embodiment, the support pads can alternatively or additionally be moved back and forth parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle seat. In this way, you can also adjust the most comfortable position for the support cushion.
  • The support cushions can serve safety as well as comfort. In the event of an accident, they can automatically be moved into the side areas of the head, thus preventing the head from bending sideways.
  • The support pads can be moved to a parking position in which they rest against the front sides of the neck pad. In the parking position, the support pads are therefore not available for leaning. In this case, the contour of the support cushion can be flush with the contour of the neck pad, so that the support pad visually form a unit with the neck support.
  • In a further embodiment, the support pads can be inflated. For this purpose, the support pads can be connected to a hose to inflate them with the mouth. Alternatively or additionally, the support pads can also be inflated with a hand pump or a compressor.
  • It makes sense for the support pads to be releasably secured to a support member. They can thus be exchanged for cleaning purposes or, if one wishes to change the design of the headrest, for clean or those with a different design.
  • The support pads can be releasably secured to the support member with a hook and loop fastener and / or with snaps so that they can be easily and quickly replaced.
  • The distance between the support pads can also be adjusted. To this end They can be moved laterally to the neck pad in the direction of the transverse axis of the vehicle seat back and forth, whereby the comfort can be further increased.
  • The vehicle seat may be arranged in a motor vehicle, a railroad car, a ship or an aircraft.
