Description

  • The invention relates to a coated molding and to processes for its production. Preferred fields of application are methods for producing a plastic container having a container wall provided with a barrier film, and a plastic container having a container wall having a barrier film.
  • Methods for producing coated moldings are known in different embodiments and for different applications. This is especially true for one-side coated decorative films. The back molding of decorative films is for example off DE19531143C2 and EP1115547B1 known. The film to be backfilled may also have barrier properties and be formed into a film body, which is processed by injection molding or generally by molding a plastic material to a plastic container. Such a method is for example from the EP1582343A1 known.
  • Further, other methods for producing a plastic container with a barrier film and such plastic containers are known in different embodiments, wherein the barrier film is located either on an inside or on an outside of the container. For example JP 10156871 is a container provided with a so-called in-mold label known, in which the label or a barrier film is located on the outside thereof.
  • Particularly in the case of containers with an irregular basic shape or bottom surface in plan view, for example in a rounded-triangular basic shape with unequal side lengths, the problem arises that the barrier film can hardly be attached without wrinkles to the outside of a plastic container, which represents an aesthetic problem. Another problem is that in order to produce a diffusion-tight container for the purpose of achieving a particularly long shelf life of ingredients such as food, the barrier film without any imperfections must completely enclose the container to avoid, for example, at those locations where adjacent film edges each other do not overlap, areas arise in which the plastic container wall is not covered by the barrier film. In addition, with a barrier film applied externally or internally, there is the risk that the film will come off the plastic wall in the edge or edge regions of the container.
  • From the DE102009023477A1 the applicant is also known a plastic container having a molded from two sides barrier film. This document also discloses methods of making such plastic containers. With this method, the above-mentioned disadvantages can be at least largely overcome. In addition, obtained with such a method, a correspondingly improved plastic container with a container film having a container wall.
  • When molding plastic material onto a film material, there is always the risk that the film material will be damaged in the region of the injection or casting point. Depending on the design of the sprue type or the type of sprue, it may in fact result in the formation of high pressures. The incoming melt stream is subject under certain circumstances a strong deflection, which can be up to 90 °. While in the case of pure decorative films, only the visual impression suffers from damage, in the case of containers with a barrier film due to damage to the barrier film, the finished packaging can not achieve a barrier effect at this point. This has an adverse effect on the shelf life of the contents stored therein, especially when it comes to food packaging.
  • Proceeding from this, the present invention seeks to provide a coated molding and method for its production, in which the aforementioned disadvantages are avoided.
  • The solution of this object is achieved by a method according to claim 1 and by plastic moldings of the independent claims 19 and 23. Advantageous embodiments and further developments can be found in the dependent claims.
  • Accordingly, an idea of the present invention is to inject a plastic material on one side or both sides of a film or a film body, wherein the film or the film body is provided in one or more specific areas with a reinforcement, in particular in those areas which in the Injection and / or be exposed to high mechanical stress in subsequent steps of the manufacturing process. The film or the film body is thus partially reinforced, so that damage in this area is largely avoided.   • The reinforcement can be achieved by applying a support to the particular, i. H. endangered areas are made, wherein the support is preferably formed as a plate-shaped component. As a plate-shaped component, for example, a metal, plastic or other suitable material existing platelets can be used. Here are many materials into consideration, from which such a plate-shaped component or platelets can exist.
  • It is only important that this component or this plate or the reinforcement is capable of the film or the film body at the point where the component or the plate placed on the film or the film body or on it is secured against damage by mechanical stress. In particular, this is intended to prevent the occurrence of damage when molding plastic material onto or onto the film or the film body. The plate-shaped component or plate acts as a kind of impact protection and redirects the incoming melt jet of plastic material.
  • Alternatively or additionally, the reinforcement may be formed by an additional coating. The coating is preferably applied in the form of flowable material and then hardens to a solid or elastic reinforcing layer. Here, a variety of adhesives, paints, etc. can be used.
  • Alternatively or additionally, the reinforcement may be formed by the film or the film body itself, wherein the film or the film body is provided from the beginning formed with reinforced sections, for example by a thicker film thickness and / or the integration of additional materials as reinforcing material.
  • In particular, the reinforcement can be provided in one or more of the Anspritz- or sprue areas for the injection molding of the plastic material, because it can come at such locations or in such areas depending on the design of the sprue or the Anspritzart to the formation of high pressures. The incoming melt stream is subject under certain circumstances a strong deflection, which can be up to 90 °. The reinforcement is made before the plastic material is injected over these Anspritz- or Angußbereiche of the film or the film body.   • Of course, the reinforcement can also be provided outside of the sprue or sprue areas in those areas which are exposed to high loads during the filling process. Likewise, the reinforcement can be provided outside the Anspritz- or runner areas in those areas which are exposed to high loads in later applications or in subsequent manufacturing steps such as in particular sealing, sealing and / or transport.
  • The application of the reinforcement can be carried out outside of the injection molding machine, so that the film or the film body can already be placed with the reinforcements in a tool and subsequently the injection molding of the plastic material can take place.
  • But it is also possible that the application of the reinforcement takes place in the tool and subsequently takes place in the same tool, the molding of the plastic material.
  • A film or a film body can be used, in particular a film with a barrier layer or a film body with a barrier layer, with back-injection only on one side and reinforcement being provided in the area of the injection point (s).
  • However, it can also be provided that a film or a film body, in particular a film with a barrier layer or a film body with a barrier layer, is injection-molded on two sides with plastic material, d. H. that the film or the film body is encapsulated, wherein the reinforcement is provided at least on that side of the film or of the film body which is secondarily injection-molded with plastic material.   • With a method according to the invention, a decorative foil injected on one side or a decorative foil body injected on one side can be produced, wherein the decorative foil or the decorative foil body is arranged in an injection mold and plastic material is injection-molded, and before the injection of the plastic material a reinforcement in the region of an injection point and / or another Loading area is provided.   • With a method according to the invention, it is also possible to produce a plastic container which has a container wall provided with a film, in particular a barrier film and / or a decorative film, with the following steps:
    • Forming a film body from a film, in particular a barrier film and / or a decorative film whose shape corresponds at least to a part of the container wall of the plastic container to be produced,
    • Arranging the film body in an injection mold,

  • The film body can also be formed as a kind of preform which has been produced in a preceding process step, for example in an injection, deep-drawing or a stamping process. In this respect, the film body is a thin-walled structure which may have a desired barrier property and / or decorative property. In order to be able to exploit the decorative properties, the molded plastic material should have sufficient transparency at least on the outside of the plastic container. This ensures that at the sight of such a plastic container, the decor located in the interior of the plastic container can be seen.
  • According to a preferred embodiment, a plastic and / or adhesive layer is applied on at least one side of the film body or the preform, which can serve, for example, a better adhesion.
  • The film body can consist of the most diverse materials and also several layers which fulfill the respective desired barrier function. Thus, in addition to aluminum, light metal materials or other materials such as EVA or EVOH come into consideration. The film body can also fulfill a decor function and accordingly be designed as a decorative film.
  • It can be provided that the film body has subareas overlapping one another in edge regions. This can be the case, for example, when the film body has a central region, for example a bottom region, with side flanges that depart radially from it, which are bent over to form a closed side wall and overlap in their edge regions.
  • Appropriately, it is provided that the plastic container is provided with a lid having a coated on both sides with plastic, in particular overmolded barrier film.

  1.
