Ein an den Handschuhkasten angrenzendes Zierteil ist ebenfalls an dem Grundkörper der Instrumententafel befestigt. Da sowohl der Grundkörper der Instrumententafel als auch das Zierteil als auch der Handschuhkasten selber von ihren jeweiligen Soll-Maßen abweichende Ist-Maße aufweisen können, ist es notwendig, zwischen dem Handschuhkasten und dem an diesen angrenzenden Zierteil eine vergleichsweise breite Fuge vorzusehen. Durch Vorsehen einer breiten Fuge in diesem Bereich ist es möglich, auch Bauteile zu montieren, welcher größer ausfallen als ihr Soll-Maß, ohne dass sich die Bauteile gegenseitig behindern.
