Diese Zielebene ist gewöhnlich der Grund unter der Flugbahn; sie kann aber auch neben oder über der Flugbahn liegen, wenn dort operierende Ziele im Vorbeiflug abgewehrt werden sollen. Zweckmäßigerweise ist die Struktur des Flugkörpers dafür mit Leitflächen ausgestattet, die den Flugkörper um seine Längsachse rotieren lassen. Der Gefechtskopf wird dann gezündet, wenn ein. Ziel gerade in der Richtung erfasst wird, in der die Splitter orientiert sind.
