Description
The present invention relates to a method and a processing device for surface treatment, in particular for grinding and / or polishing, of workpieces, in particular for the surface treatment of implants or of implant parts.
Polierwirkung erheblich verringern.Various techniques for the surface treatment of workpieces are known in the prior art, which differ fundamentally from each other in terms of apparatus, effect and also with respect to their preferred application. The techniques of interest here are those in which conventionally a finely divided, in particular pulverulent or granular, surface treatment agent is introduced into a treatment vessel which or each of the workpieces to be treated is completely or partially immersed or immersed in this filling of surface treatment agent And then a surface treatment, in particular a grinding or polishing, causing relative movement between the / the workpieces and the particles of the surface treatment agent is generated. For this purpose, two fundamentally different techniques are known. On the one hand devices are known in which the relative movement is created by the workpieces attached to workpiece holders and these are moved in the container alternately relative to this, so that the workpieces are towed by the surface treatment agent and in so far from a so-called "drag loops" too speak is. The application is conventionally limited to free-flowing surface treatment agents, which retain their flowability even during the grinding or polishing process in time, for example, dry powder, granules (also in the aqueous phase) or multi-component agents were used. The grinding or polishing effect is based on the fact that the moving ("dragged") workpieces in the bed of the surface treatment agent effect a displacement of the particles of the surface treatment agent, so that adjacent to a workpiece, relative to this moving particles have an abrasive effect , In order to achieve the desired effect, some resistance to movement of the workpieces in the surface treatment agent is required. It was found that the abrasion formed in the surface treatment increases the resistance to movement over time and the abrasion must be removed from the bed. An attempt was made to stimulate the treatment container to vibrate, but this caused an uncontrollable decrease in the resistance to movement and the treatment results. For this reason, so far the treatment process of the workpieces to remove the abrasion had to be interrupted. To achieve comparable treatment results, frequent and regular interruptions were required. The known, for cleaning vibration exciters usually have only one imbalance drive, which is arranged with a vertical axis of rotation dome-like in the middle of the treatment vessel. It has also been observed that the multicomponent surface treatment agents desired in certain applications, which may have components of various eg density, size, etc., tend to segregate during movement of the workpieces, particularly due to gravity. An attempt was made to avoid this by vibrations of the container. However, there are reservations in the art, since the vibrations during drag grinding significantly reduce the resistance to movement of the workpieces in the treatment agent and thereby the desired grinding or polishing effect.
In a method and a device for surface treatment, the present invention is based on the so-called drag dragging technique known as known, the invention being based on the object of further developing the method and the device, so that in particular the disadvantages described above are avoided as far as possible can be.
In this respect, the invention initially relates to a method for surface treatment, preferably for grinding and / or polishing, workpieces, preferably for surface treatment of implants or implant parts, comprising the steps of: providing and introducing finely divided or finely divided surface treatment agent into a treatment container, introducing (quasi "dipping") one or more treating workpieces into the surface treatment agent located in the processing vessel so that the work piece (s) are completely or partially surrounded by surface treatment means, moving, preferably alternately moving, the work piece (s) in the vessel relative to the vessel so that the workpieces move to different locations arrive in the treatment tank, wherein the workpieces are each completely or partially surrounded by the surface treatment agent, and exciting the treatment tank to vibrate during movement of the workpiece or workpieces.
In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the invention initially and essentially proposes the features that a surface treatment agent is used which contains powder or a powder mixture or powder or powder mixture, wherein the powder or the powder mixture has the property in a Pressure increase tend to reversible baking. The term caking is known to a person skilled in the art. The phenomenon is referred to in English by the term "caking". This refers to a tendency of powdery substances to bridge. In this case, in particular under the action of external, in particular directed forces or pressure on the powder, a reversible and insofar temporary lolling or clumping occurs. A compression caused by external pressure or external forces is thus associated with a restriction or possibly even with a loss of flowability; in particular cohesive forces between the powder constituents can be responsible for this. The term "reversible caking" means that the powder proposed according to the invention, on the other hand, have the property that the caking can be completely or at least partially eliminated by vibration or suitable vibrations, ie a loosening and "caking" is possible, according to one certain flowability (also depending on the nature and extent of the vibrations) can be completely or at least partially restored. The term "powder" includes a wide range of possible particle sizes, for example. Particles may have dimensions of a few micrometers, but also be larger or possibly even smaller. Such powders have hitherto not been used in drag grinding, since the caking would undesirably lead to the formation of furrows in the surface treatment agent along the repetitive movement path of the workpieces, so that the workpieces would always come into contact with the same powder repeatedly and thus only a small part of the surface treatment agent could be used. In order to avoid this, surface treatment agents have hitherto been used in drag grinding, which retain their flowability under pressure as far as possible in order to obtain uniform, repeatable results, but it is precisely these treatment agents (as explained above) which respond to vibrations with an undesired pressure drop. On the other hand, the Applicant has surprisingly found in experiments that the tendency to bridge formation or to caking certain powders during drag grinding can even be advantageously utilized in a targeted manner, since a limited caking of the powdery surface treatment agent leads to a likewise only limited increase in pressure at the surface of the workpieces leads, so in addition to a rubbing effect, an increased pressure effect occurs and ultimately a more uniform and better surface treatment is possible. The Applicant has thus overcome in the process according to the invention the existing reservations in the art that prone to caking powdery substances as well as an occurring during the treatment vibration excitation in so-called. Drag grinding for the treatment result are detrimental. In this case, in the powder proposed by the invention, depending on the desired application for grinding and / or polishing workpieces, one can also speak of a grinding or of a polishing powder or of a grinding or polishing agent. It can, for example, metallic workpieces (eg. From stainless steel) or, for example, ceramic workpieces are treated.
A preferred development is seen in that the vibration excitation, preferably with respect to the direction and / or the amplitude and / or the frequency of one or more vibration components of the vibration excitation, and preferably in accordance with the course and / or on the speed of movement of the workpieces or is set so that, in particular when viewed as a whole or a statistical means of the particles of the surface treatment agent results in a limited, temporally at least substantially invariable caking of the surface treatment agent. The term "limited" here means that by means of the selected vibration excitation an otherwise even further or even further strengthening caking is avoided, so that in the context of the invention a controlled or metered caking can be used. By a defined, tailored to the particular application setting the vibration excitation of the treatment vessel, the nature and extent of the caking of the surface treatment agent controlled, controlled in this way, the grinding or polishing pressure build-up between the surface treatment agent and the workpieces and finally dosed in this way the treatment effect and made uniform. An almost or predominantly kinematic grinding or polishing movement in conventional drag grinding is thus supported by a temporary compression and caking of the powder material, which leads to a metered pressure increase at the workpiece surface. Preferably, it is possible to proceed in such a way that the vibration excitation, in particular with respect to the direction and / or the amplitude and / or the frequency of one or more vibration components of the vibration excitation, and preferably in accordance with the course and / or on the The speed of movement of the work piece (s) is adjusted so as to avoid or at least virtually prevent furrowing in the powdery surface treatment agent during movement of the work pieces. This achieves better mixing of the powder in the treatment tank, and utilizes the treatment agent more uniformly for the surface treatment. Preferably, ie by way of example here, powdered clay can powdery as a powder of alumina, for example. Al 2 O 3, or powdered SiC or powdery SiO 2 (quartz) or ground are used, or used as a powder mixture, a mixture of individual or several of the powdered components aforementioned become.
Before the background described above, the invention also relates to a processing device for the surface treatment of workpieces, preferably for grinding and / or polishing workpieces, such as. Of implants or implant parts, wherein the device comprises: a cup-shaped treatment container for receiving in particular powdery surface treatment agent, at least a workpiece holder, to which one or more workpieces to be machined are releasably fastened, at least one drive or drag drive with at least one drive element which is in particular releasably connected to the workpiece holder and which moves the workpiece holder with the drive switched on, in particular alternately, relative to the treatment vessel , and a first vibration exciter for vibrational excitation of the treatment tank.
To achieve the object mentioned above, the invention initially and essentially proposes the features that the treatment container is resiliently mounted or received and that the first vibration exciter has at least two imbalance drives and the treatment container imposes a first vibration component, which is substantially inclined to a horizontal plane lies. In this case, a so-called horizontal plane is understood to mean a geometric reference plane which can extend parallel to the bottom of the treatment container or to an installation surface of the processing device. It has surprisingly been found in experiments that such vibration excitation is particularly well suited for controlling or metering the agglomeration of bridging prone powders during the polishing of workpieces in the powder. In this respect, the processing device according to the invention is in an excellent manner, in particular for carrying out the described method according to the invention, and to the extent achievable effects and advantages, reference is made to the preceding description.
With regard to the drive or towing drive serving for the movement of the work piece (s), it is preferred that it be adapted or respectively adapted to generate a respectively alternating linear movement and / or sheet movement and / or rotational movement and / or circumferential movement of the workpiece holder connected to it is. For example, a simple vertical or horizontal or diagonally directed reciprocating motion or, for example, a circular, elliptical or similar arcuate or circumferential movement may be considered. The generated movement can be repeated identically during the following cycles or, for example, spirographically offset. Preferably, the drag drive has a planetary gear, the planet gears each form a drive element, wherein a plurality of rod-like, preferably at least substantially oriented perpendicular to the said horizontal plane, workpiece holders are provided whose respective upper longitudinal end is so connected to a planet, that the workpiece holder at least the circulating path movement of the planetary carries out with. Preferably, a rotationally fixed connection between the planet gear and workpiece holder can be selected, so that the self-rotation is transmitted from the planet to the workpiece holder. Alternatively, a rotational connection may be selected, so that the self-rotation of the workpiece holder does not depend on the planetary gear, but can be predetermined by means of a separate drive. Also, the processing device may comprise a traversing device to retract the workpiece holders, preferably in the vertical direction, from the outside into the treatment vessel or optionally remove it, or to be able to set a desired penetration depth of the workpieces in the supply of the surface treatment agent contained in the treatment container , It is considered appropriate that each workpiece holder has in the region of its lower longitudinal end one or more fastening receptacles for the releasable attachment of one workpiece each, preferably by means of clamping means. In order to achieve a versatile adjustability, it is also preferred that the speed of the towing drive, d. H. of the movement of the workpiece holder with the workpieces serving drive, regardless of the frequencies or speeds of the vibration exciter is adjustable.
