Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle seat with a backrest, a seat and a four-point safety belt system comprising two shoulder straps, each having at its upper end an upper attachment point in the region of the backrest, and in each case at its lower end in the region of the seat surface of the vehicle seat have a lower attachment point.

The invention is based essentially on the idea of providing the four-point safety belt system with a preferably self-tightening - that is, self-tightening - lap belt, which connects the two shoulder straps to one another via corresponding deflection devices in the region of the lower attachment points.

In a first embodiment of the invention, the two interconnected lap belt sections are formed integrally, so that both shoulder straps and the lap belt consist of a belt.

In a second embodiment of the invention, the ends of the two interconnected lap belt sections are connected to each other via a buckle, so that in an emergency, a quick opening of the lap belt can be done.

Essential in both embodiments is therefore that the lap belt is formed by extensions of the two shoulder straps. This ensures that the lap belt is tightened in a fast forward of the corresponding occupant and thus slipping of his pelvic area is prevented.

The upper attachment points of the two shoulder straps can each be formed by a belt retractor fastened to the backrest.

But it can also be provided that the two shoulder straps are guided in the upper region of the backrest through openings to the back of the backrest and connected there.
