Abstract
Description
The The present invention relates to a particular nonionic surfactant Spray drying product, which in particular 0.5 to 5 Wt .-% of an ethoxylated fatty alcohol with a narrow homolog distribution contains. Furthermore, it relates to a washing or cleaning agent, containing such a spray-drying product. Further concerns They use a special spray-drying process and use of ethoxylated fatty alcohol with restricted homolog distribution in the spray drying of aqueous slurries.
The protection of people and the environment is in the general interest and is promoted worldwide by numerous laws. One aspect to pay particular attention to is industrial emissions. In Germany z. B. the Federal Immission Control Act with the protection against harmful environmental effects of air pollution. The so-called "Technical Instructions for Air Pollution Prevention" (TA Luft) is a general administrative regulation of the German Federal Government on the Federal Immission Control Act. It contains limits for the emission and immission of pollutants. Chapter 5 describes requirements for precautionary measures against harmful environmental effects. In particular, it is stipulated under 5.2.5 that organic matter in the exhaust gas must not exceed the total mass concentration 50 mg / m 3 , in each case given as total carbon. This requirement is important for the spray-drying production of detergents. The use of nonionic surfactants, in particular ethoxylated fatty alcohols, in the spray drying leads to an increase of the organic substances in the exhaust gas, so that z. B. the above mass concentration of 50 mg / m 3 can be exceeded quickly, unless the tower temperature would be lowered, thereby lowering the production capacity. From a business point of view, however, it is not desirable to reduce production output. At the same time, however, there is a need for nonionic surfactant spray drying powders, e.g. B. in order to obtain more efficient end products.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung war daher die Bereitstellung eines Sprühtrocknungsproduktes, welches ethoxylierten Fettalkohol enthält.task The present invention therefore was the provision of a spray-drying product, which contains ethoxylated fatty alcohol.

B. Berol 260, Berol 266, Berol 840 sowie Ethylan 1005 (alle ex Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry AB, Schweden).at the ethoxylation of fatty alcohol are fatty alcohols with excess Ethylene oxide (EO) to a mixture of different homologs which from homologous fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers with different Polymerization exist, implemented. By the nature of the alkoxylation catalyst is thereby the free, unreacted alcohol and the homolog distribution significantly influenced. Usual products with high residual alcohol content and wider homolog distributions become more common through use basic catalysts (eg potassium hydroxide or sodium methylate) receive. These products are referred to as ethoxylated fatty alcohols with broad homolog distribution. A narrowing of the homolog distribution is achieved by using special catalysts (eg based on of layered silicates). The proportions of higher and in particular lower homologs and the residual alcohol content are significant compared to the broad homolog distribution reduced. The average degree of ethoxylation falls then together with the maximum in homolog distribution. These Products are also referred to as "peaked ethoxylates" and are readily available commercially. Examples for such commercially available ethoxylated fatty alcohols with narrow homolog distribution z. Berol 260, Berol 266, Berol 840 and Ethylan 1005 (all ex Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry AB, Sweden).
Particularly suitable nonionic surfactants with narrow homolog distribution are ethoxylated, in particular primary, alcohols having preferably 8 to 18 carbon atoms and on average 1 to 12 moles of ethylene oxide (EO) per mole of alcohol in which the alcohol residue is linear or preferably methyl-branched in the 2-position may contain linear or methyl-branched radicals in the mixture, as they are usually present in Oxoalkoholresten. In particular, however, alcohol ethoxylates with linear radicals of alcohols of native origin having 12 to 18 carbon atoms, for. From coconut, palm, tallow or oleyl alcohol, and on average from 2 to 8 EO per mole of alcohol. The preferred ethoxylated alcohols include, for. C 12 -C 14 -alcohols with 3 EO or 4 EO, C 9 -C 11 -alcohols with 7 EO, C 13 -C 15 -alcohols with 3 EO, 5 EO, 7 EO or 8 EO, C 12 - C 18 -alcohols with 3 EO, 5 EO or 7 EO and mixtures of these, such as mixtures of C 12 -C 14 -alcohol with 3 EO and C 12 -C 18 -alcohol with 7 EO. The specified degrees of ethoxylation represent statistical averages that can be a whole or a fractional number for a particular product. The decisive factor is that there is a narrow homolog distribution.
The object according to the invention has the advantage that, despite the use of ethoxylated fatty alcohols in spray drying, no throttling of the production output is required in order nevertheless to ensure compliance with a maximum mass concentration of organic substances in the exhaust gas of 50 mg / m 3 , indicated as total carbon. In other words, the spray-drying products of the present invention are not critical to air pollution in production even if the production efficiency is high. This is not the case in particular when ethoxylated fatty alcohol with a broad homolog distribution is used. According to a preferred embodiment, the spray-drying product according to the invention is free (ie containing less than 1% by weight, preferably less than 0.5% by weight) of nonionic surfactants which are not ethoxylated fatty alcohols with narrow homolog distribution, in particular free of broader ethoxylated fatty alcohol homolog distribution. Preferred nonionic surfactants are exclusively ethoxylated fatty alcohols with a narrow homolog distribution in the spray-drying products. Further advantages of this spray-drying product are its very good solubility in water, its storage stability as well as its good flow properties and good grain stability. Another advantage of the spray-drying product is that it allows very good washing performance especially in washing applications with low water use (as usual when using modern wax machines with water saving program) and at low washing temperatures (preferably ≤ 40 ° C).
In a preferred embodiment contains the inventive Spray drying product 1-4 wt .-%, in particular 1.5-3 wt .-% of an ethoxylated fatty alcohol with concentrated Homolog distribution.
Weiterhin
ist es erfindungsgemäß bevorzugt, dass der ethoxylierte
Fettalkohol mit eingeengter Homologenverteilung einen durchschnittlichen
Ethoxylierungsgrad im Bereich von 4–11, insbesondere 7–9
aufweist.
Anteil
des einfach ethoxylierten Alkohols < 5 Gew.-%,
Anteil des zweifach
ethoxylierten Alkohols < 5
Gew.-%.Furthermore, it is preferred according to the invention that the ethoxylated fatty alcohol having a narrow homolog distribution has an average degree of ethoxylation in the range of 4-11, in particular 7-9. It is likewise preferred that, based on the total amount of the ethoxylated fatty alcohol having a narrow homolog distribution which is contained in the spray-drying product, the following values are observed:
Proportion of free alcohol <5% by weight,

Am Auslass des Turms (Temperatur vorzugsweise 80–120°C) fallen dann getrocknete, feine Pulver an.The Spray drying as such can be done according to the usual Process for the preparation of powdered washing or Cleaning agents are carried out.
