Description

The present invention relates to a device for mutually fixing two forearm regions, in particular two human forearm regions. Such devices are known from the prior art, for example in the form of handcuffs, for a long time. These handcuffs are known to be used, for example, to prevent criminals from escaping or to make arrests. However, in other areas too, there is often a need to fix people's arms. For example, in the treatment of mentally ill people, there is sometimes a need to restrict the freedom of movement of the arms of these affected persons. For this purpose, conventional handcuffs are not suitable because they are associated with significant risk of injury to the patients themselves. In other words, using conventional handcuffs as a result of patient movement, this would result in injuries to their own arms. Furthermore, it is often not intended to put on patients such handcuffs, as this is accompanied at the same time with a certain stigmatization of each person.

The present invention is therefore based on the object to provide devices for mutual fixation of forearm areas or wrists available, which reduce a risk of self-injury of each person. This is inventively achieved by a device according to claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and further developments are the subject of the dependent claims.

Preferably, the first receiving belt and preferably also the second receiving belt in its entirety is flexible or bendable and can therefore adapt to the shape of the wrists. The fact that the two receiving straps are made of a relatively soft material, a risk of injury to the patient is further reduced.

In an advantageous embodiment, the first connecting portion can be connected to the second connecting portion at different positions. This means that it is possible, for example, these two connecting portions, which are in particular end portions of the receiving straps, initially against each other in to bring a certain relative position, wherein this position is variable and then to lock together in this position, or to fix together.

In a further advantageous embodiment, at least one receiving belt has a hook-and-loop fastener between the connecting sections.
