Detailliert besteht die mehrteilige Schottwand aus einem unteren Querträger, dem Schottwandelement sowie einem oberen Verstärkungsträger, wobei der untere Querträger als Leichtmetalldruckgussteil und das Schottwandelement sowie der obere Verstärkungsträger aus einem Leichtmetallblech, bspw. aus Aluminium, ausgebildet sind. Durch den mehrteiligen Aufbau der erfindungsgemäßen Schottwand, kann diese in besonders beanspruchten Bereichen verstärkt ausgebildet werden, während sie in weniger stark belasteten Bereichen schwächer und damit gewichtsoptimiert ausgeführt werden kann. Durch die Verwendung von Leichtmetall, bspw. in der Form von Leichtmetallblech oder Leichtmetalldruckgussteilen, kann für die gesamte Schottwand ein vergleichsweise geringes Gewicht erreicht werden, was insbesondere im modernen Sportwagenbau von großem Vorteil ist. Als Leichtmetalle kommen dabei bspw. das oben genannte Aluminium oder Magnesium in Betracht. Durch die Ausbildung des unteren Querträgers als Aluminiumdruckgussteil, kann dieser mit vergleichsweise geringen Stückkosten hergestellt werden, wobei Druckgussteile allgemein den großen Vorteil besitzen, glatte, saubere Flächen und Kanten aufzuweisen.
