Abstract

A method of the aforementioned type has already been known from practice for decades. Usually, printing paper is printed from the roll in rotary or gravure printing. The printing cylinders used have the decor to be printed on as a negative image. The printing of printing paper in rotary printing is particularly useful when printing paper with a specific decor is required in large quantities. The disadvantage, however, is that in rotary printing with predetermined pressure rollers only a very specific decor can be printed. If a different décor is required, retrofitting the printing device with other printing rollers is required. Particular problems arise when certain decors are needed only in very small quantities. The known method is based on the problem that the gravure technique commonly used in the printing of ornamental laminate has the disadvantage that the gravure printing is economical only from a pressure surface of about 10,000 m ² . To economically print smaller quantities, the digital form of printing is proposed. This makes it possible to change motifs constantly in any short intervals. As a result, decor and cost can be changed.

A disadvantage of a known printing method is that the respective decors, regardless of whether they have been printed in gravure printing or digital printing, often repeat.

Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a method of the type mentioned in which can be printed inexpensively and quickly with different decor images even small amounts of printing paper.

The above object is achieved in a method of the aforementioned invention substantially by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1. The printing paper is printed by a digital printing device by a digital printing device, wherein the paper section following the paper section has a different, further decorative image than the decorative image of the preceding paper section.

The invention is based, first of all, on the basic idea of using a digital printing method instead of the rotary printing method for the present application. As with rotary printing, in the present invention, the decorative image of a paper section has a plurality of different image sections. Although, of course, the dimensions of a paper section are variable, it makes sense for manufacturing reasons, to provide all paper sections with the same dimensions. The width of a paper section and thus also the width of a decorative image is between 1.0 m and 3 m, while the length of a decorative image is between 0.5 m and 2 m. A usual measure for the width of the printing paper is 2.07 m, while the width of the decor or the respective decorative image is usually 2.0 m. A typical length of a paper section is 1.3 m.

According to the invention, it is provided that the decorative image following the decorative image has further image sections which differ in particular from the image sections of the preceding decorative image, it even being possible for the decorative images and in particular the image sections of all decorative images of the printing paper to be a printing paper web or roll.
