Leiter der Leitung angeschlossen sind (
„Kupplungsteil” im Sinne der Erfindung ist ein Teil einer Steckverbindung, in dem Steckerstifte oder Steckbuchsen als Kontaktteile in einem mechanisch stabilen Kontaktträger angeordnet sind. Die korrespondierenden, als Gegenkontakte ausgeführten Kontaktteile zur Herstellung der Steckverbindung befinden sich im zweiten Kupplungsteil der Steckverbindung. Die Kontaktteile sind innerhalb des jeweiligen Kontaktträgers mit den abisolierten Leitern einer in das Kupplungsteil hineinragenden elektrischen Leitung verbunden, welche mindestens zwei von einem gemeinsamen Mantel umgebene Adern, das sind isolierte elektrische Leiter, aufweist. In derartigen Kupplungsteilen sollen die Verbindungsstellen von Kontaktteilen und Leitern feuchtigkeitsdicht abgeschlossen sein und es soll auch ein feuchtigkeitsdichter Anschluß an die jeweilige Leitung bestehen. - – daß der Innenraum des Gehäuses unter Freilassung der Steckseite des Kontaktträgers im Bereich der in denselben hineinragenden Leitung bis hin zur Anschlußseite des Kontaktträgers vollständig mit einem Schaumstoffkörper ausgefüllt ist.

In das montierte Gehäuse werden danach Komponenten eines Materials eingefüllt, das innerhalb des Gehäuses aufschäumt und dann dessen Innenraum im Anschlußbereich der Leitung bis hin zur Anschlußseite des Kontaktträgers vollständig ausfüllt. Dabei kann das Ende des Kontaktträgers an seiner Anschlußseite auch vom aufgeschäumten Material umschlossen sein. Das Innere der Leitung ist durch den Schaumstoffkörper ebenso wie die Verbindungsstellen zwischen Leitern und Kontaktteilen wirksam gegen Feuchtigkeit abgedichtet. Gegenüber bekannten Kupplungsteilen ergibt sich hier ein in vielen Fällen vorteilhaftes vermindertes Gewicht.
