It It is known that the growth of microorganisms through a series slowed down by substances or completely suppressed can. The most well-known antibiotic substances are Penicillin, streptomycin, neomycin, erythromycin, tetracycline or Chloramphenicol. Penicillin is among others. for the treatment of syphilis, Blood poisoning, pneumonia and childbed fever suitable. Put erythromycin and tetracycline e.g. important antibiotics for the treatment of acne. To avoid Resistance formations become the locally applied antibiotics often with other agents, e.g. Benzyl peroxide, combined. ciprofloxacin plays etc. in combat of infections by Pseudomonas aeruginosa a crucial Role.
Ampho-Moronal and Nystatin are known antifungal Agent used in particular against yeast fungi of the genus Candida which are u.a. For the whitish ones coverings on the mucous membranes of immunosuppressed patients (e.g., as a result of HIV infection Transplants, in leukopenia after chemotherapy, ischemic Diseases such as in diabetics, tumor patients and children after multiple infections), but also for the mass infestation of Intestinal mucosa, the lungs and the colonization of gastric ulcer and esophagus are. These diseases are called thrush. It is known that antibiotics that are administered against diseases, which are caused by microorganisms, have side effects can.
Cyclosporin A dient u.a. ebenfalls der Behandlung von Neurodermitis. Furthermore There are a variety of non-infectious inflammatory reactions, their causes often not clarified clearly are. There are different therapies are used, whose Success always has to show in each individual case. For relief symptoms and reducing the number of acute relapses For example eczema, Crohn's disease, rheumatism or multiple Sclerosis treated with cortisone. However, cortisone can be a number of unwanted Cause side effects, so it mostly only for short Time to be administered. Furthermore, the treatment with various immunosuppressants are described. Calcineurin inhibitors suppress this local immune system of the skin, what with not insignificant side effects, such as. Skin infections and intolerance reactions, associated can be. Cyclosporin A is used inter alia. also the treatment of Neurodermatitis. Side effects of this therapy are blood pressure increase, kidney damage and other. Azathioprine or methothrexate are being treated used by multiple sclerosis and rheumatism, with changes of the blood picture, gastrointestinal disturbances, Hair loss, tumor induction, nausea, Vomiting, diarrhea and weight loss are detrimental.
The present invention was to provide other antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory Active ingredients available to ask as possible have no side effects.

An antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory Effect has not been described.
The determined according to the invention Effect of the shell extract from Aronia sp. is both against Prokaryotes as well as eukaryotes and may be dependent of the microorganism to be inhibited over the to be administered. It is preferably affects the growth of bacteria and fungi. The extracts bactericidal or bacteriostatic and mycocidal or mycostatic dependent on from the concentration used. Due to the complex composition The extract ingredients is the formation of a resistance, such as It is not observed in antibiotics. The vegetable Extract is due to its natural Origin wholesome and free from side effects when used in higher mammals, e.g. Human or Animal, is administered. To the harvest of fruits is an Aronia shell peel produced by squeezing the juice. Of the Trester may additionally be previously digested enzymatically, preferably at 40-60 ° C. This can, for example pectin-active enzyme preparations, such as. Pectinex or fructozyme. The enzymatic Digestion is recommended for better digestion conditions to ensure and / or to increase the yield.
The significant ingredients of the pomace are obtained in an extraction process. Preferably, an alcoholic extraction, an extraction in an aqueous salt solution or an Extrak tion in water. Particularly preferred is extracted with an aqueous salt solution, most preferably by means of potassium sulfite (K 2 SO 3 ). For example, potassium sulfite (K 2 SO 3 ) and water may be extracted at 15-25 ° C for a period of 5 to 200 minutes with agitation. This extraction process is characterized by very good yields, safe handling and residue-free removal by subsequent vacuum evaporation.
The alcoholic extraction can be carried out, for example, by means of a monohydric C 1 -C 4 alcohol or alcohol-water mixture, preferably at 15-25 ° C for a period of 3 to 200 minutes with agitation. For example, methanol, ethanol, propanol or isopropanol can be used, with methanol or ethanol being preferred.
The Extraction processes are generally under atmospheric Pressure performed. You can, however even with different pressures be made. Extraction under motion generally means stir or also a band extraction, during the mixing with the extractant occur. Optionally, an enzymatic treatment of the Pomace at appropriate pH in the extraction process be included in order to increase the yield of pomace extract. Around can get clear extracts also fining steps by protein precipitation and Separation steps are integrated into the process.
Of the resulting extract is subsequently concentrated, preferably at least three times the concentration on dry matter, compared to the concentration of dry matter in the extract after extraction, reducing the volume to one-third of the original one Extract volume is reduced. Particular preference is given to at least concentrated six times the concentration of dry matter, most preferably at least eight times the concentration on dry matter by reducing the volume to at least one-sixth or at least one-eighth of the initial volume can be reduced. Suitable methods, e.g. Thickening in a vacuum, are the Specialist known.
Of the Concentrated shell extract, which is also used as a shell concentrate is designated contains 50 to 90% (w / v) soluble Dry matter, preferably 60 to 70% (w / v) soluble dry matter. The remaining portion is more aqueous Nature, the water and water-soluble compounds, e.g. fruit acids and salts. The measure of the soluble dry matter in a liquid becomes common also stated in "Grad Brix" (° Brix), so that the shell concentrate by values of 50 to 90 ° Brix, preferably 60 to 70 ° Brix, is characterized. The dry substance corresponds to the present case as far as possible the antimicrobial active substance, preferably to 80%, especially preferably at 90%, most preferably at 100%. Preferably 60 to 70% (w / v) of active substance are contained in the shell concentrate.
The Shell concentrate can be prepared by mixing with a base for later application is appropriate to a desired Concentration be set. As a "basis" within the meaning of the invention is any substance to understand that is suitable, the Aronia shell extract such record that an application is possible, the substance neither reacts with the shell extract nor physiologically questionable is. For example, picking up can be dissolving, dispersing, suspending or mixing. Preferred substances are liquids, Gels or ointments. The active ingredient concentration is advantageous over the Absorbance adjustable, as it has been shown that the concentration and the color depth correlate. This makes a simple dosage independent of the yield of the production process and the concentration the shell extract possible.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the aronia shell extract is used for the prophylaxis / therapy of mycotic diseases, which are caused by yeast fungi of the genus Candida. It is widespread in the environment with 200 species. Preferred is the species Candida albicans. These are unicellular, immobile eukaryotes, which are attributed to the yeasts. C. albicans, for example, is facultatively pathogenic for humans and warm-blooded animals and may, for example, cause infections of the skin and folds of the skin, nails, mucous membranes, throat, vagina and / or intestinal tract, especially the gastrointestinal tract, eg thrush, vaginal candidiasis, diaper dermatitis and / or inter-toe mycosis. These yeasts can be trafficked into the lungs, endocardium, kidneys and central nervous system via the blood, leading to serious and life-threatening complications. Candida balanitis is the causative agent of Ba lanoposthitis.

From medical relevance is especially the aspergillosis, a mold fungus infection, mostly by the fungus species Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger or Aspergillus flavus is caused. disease variety are the skin, the ears and the paranasal sinuses, with the lungs being the most common is attacked. Rarely, metastases in the heart, the kidney and the central nervous system. There are three types: 1. Invasive aspergillosis, which often affects the lungs and over the blood vessels into the central nervous system spreads, which is a frequent Complication of AIDS represents 2. Aspergilloma as non-invasive Form in the paranasal sinuses, and 3. allergic bronchopneumopathy with bronchial asthma. The clinical symptoms are mainly due to the infestation of the respiratory system conditionally. Diseases of the trachea, Bronchi, lungs and air sacs cause respiratory problems, but without breath sounds.
Aspergillus flavus is above In addition, dreaded as a producer of aflatoxins, leading to liver changes and intestinal inflammation to lead can.
A preferred family of filamentous fungi, against which the aronia shell extract the invention works are the dermatophytes. They form an important Group of skin fungi that are considered different genera of horn-loving Filamentous fungi infest the horny layer of the skin. The generic term for infections by dermatophytes Tinea. Can affect the skin itself as well as skin appendages such as nails or also be hair. Dermatophytes that prefer to settle in the inter-toe areas and in particular cause athlete's foot, are especially members of the genus Trichophyton (such as Trichophyton rubrum or Trichophyton mentagrophytes), more rarely also representatives of the genus Epidermophyton, e.g. Epidermophyton floccosum. bacterial Infections are often present simultaneously with fungal colonization. The injured skin of the populated region may also be an entry port for streptococci and for that to be the development of a Wundrose.

According to the shell extract of Aronia sp. also used for the prophylaxis / treatment of inflammatory diseases. For the purposes of the invention, "inflammatory diseases" are understood to mean those which are caused by body-irritating physical or chemical stimuli and / or (autogenous) stimuli.Organic (autogenous) stimuli can be caused, for example, by a disintegration of the body's own cells, such as poisoning In many cases, inflammation and infection with microorganisms can occur in parallel with local inflammation Inflammation also affect the entire organism, which usually comes to increased formation of granulocytes, the increased formation of certain plasma proteins, increased metabolism and / or immune reactions.
In an embodiment the invention, the aronia shell extract of the invention for prophylaxis / therapy of multiple sclerosis, rheumatic diseases, atopic dermatitis, Crohn's disease, acne, preferably acne vulgaris, and / or feces (Angulus infectiosus oris). In the use according to the invention Aronia peel extract shows an unexpected improvement the complaints, preferably in at least 50% of the treated Cases, especially preferred in 75%. The use according to the invention of the aronia shell extract leads in particular in multiple sclerosis to a surprising suppression the symptoms and slowdown of the further course of the disease, so that due to the asymptomatic clinical picture almost of Standstill can be spoken. Preferably you can here up to a age of 60 years, an approximately symptom-free condition and a high quality of life be achieved.
According to the invention is a at least 1% (v / v) solution of the shell extract, preferably at least 5% (v / v) solution, especially preferably used at least 10% (v / v) solution. Dependent on of special application, especially for topical applications and / or inflammatory Diseases, can also higher Concentrations and other forms of uptake may be advantageous, preferably at least 10% (v / v) solution, ointment or granules, more preferably at least 20% (v / v) solution, ointment or granules, most preferably at least 30% (v / v) Solution, Ointment or granules. The appropriate solutions, ointments or granules by diluting extracted according to the invention and concentrated shell extract containing a soluble dry substance from 50 to 90 ° Brix, preferably 60 to 70 ° Brix, most preferably 65 ° Brix has received. It is understood that the appropriate dilution in dependence is to be selected from the dry matter content of the shell concentrate, to a largely constant drug concentration in the solution and a reproducible antimicrobial and / or anti-inflammatory Effect. Diluting happens with a suitable basis, such as a liquid, preferably water, or a gel, preferably a hydroxyethylcellulose gel.
By the at least 5% (v / v) solution after 48 hours, a reduction in the cell density of the bacteria, Yeast fungi or molds achieved by at least 50%, preferably by at least 75%, and by the at least 10% (v / v) solution a decrease in cell density by at least 80 after 48 hours %, preferably at least 90%.
The Determination of the antimicrobial effect can be, for example, by Realize sticking test or plate diffusion test.
In Another, quantitative method, the cell density in a liquid culture with the Aronia shell extract over a photometric measurement with a for each microorganism optimal wavelength determined. The reference is a liquid culture without addition of Aronia peel extract. The optimal wavelength for determining growth inhibition takes place with the aid of the Lambert-Beer diagram.
The Application of the above methods shows a specific growth inhibition through the shell extract of Aronia sp., both from the microorganism as well as the concentration of the shell extract is dependent. On the Aronia shell extract sensitively react organisms a direct proportionality between the concentration of the shell extract and the inhibition growth.
At the Example organism E. coli causes a 1% (v / v) solution of the Shell extract only a minimum of 5% after 48 hours Growth inhibition, preferably at least 10%, while a 5 % (v / v) solution the bacterial growth at least 60%, preferably at least 78%, and a 10% (v / v) solution the bacterial growth at least 85%, preferably at least 95%, in the same period of time inhibit.
Diese erfindungsgemäße Wirkung zeigt sich insbesondere auch gegenüber MRSA – norddeutscher Epidemiestamm 406/98.At the example organism MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) a 1% (v / v) solution of the shell extract causes at least 30% growth inhibition after 48 hours, preferably at least 40%, while a 5% (v / v) solution or more concentrated solutions that inhibit bacterial growth at least 95% in the same period or are preferably bactericidal. This he effect according to the invention is also evident in particular against MRSA - North German epidemic strain 406/98.
At the Exemplary organism Staphylococcus epidermidis causes a 1% (v / v) -solution the peel extract already has at least 60 after 48 hours % growth inhibition, preferably at least 73%, while a 5% (v / v) solution the bacterial growth at least 75%, preferably at least 80%, and a 10% (v / v) solution the bacterial growth at least 85%, preferably at least 96% in the same period of time.
At the Exemplary organism Pseudomonas aeruginosa causes a 1% (v / v) -solution the peel extract at least 35% growth inhibition after 48 hours, preferably at least 52% while a 5% (v / v) solution the bacterial growth at least 60%, preferably at least 80%, and a 10% (v / v) solution the bacterial growth at least 85%, preferably at least 91%, in the same period inhibit.
Since P. acnes is very difficult to handle as a laboratory culture, the Professional P. acidipropionici, in particular the strain P. acidipropionici DSM 3569, selected as an example organism.
Of the Shell extract has a pH of 2.0 to 7.5, preferably from 4.0 to 4.5. The effect of the Aronia shell extract is here not on the inherent attributed to acidic pH, the at pH values up to 3.0, preferably between 4.0 and 4,5. Trials with citric acid or sea buckthorn juice in comparable pH ranges have no or a lower growth inhibition than with Aronia shell extract Consequence, with the difference in the inhibition again from the Microorganism is dependent. The Aronia shell extract has an antimicrobial effect even in the neutral pH range. In buffered systems, e.g. in the neutral pH range, can be demonstrate the antimicrobial effect of the Aronia shell extract, while Calcium ascorbate at pH 7.0 does not inhibit microbial growth. Here, the setting of identical antioxidant or radical-catching Values taken into account, so that the antimicrobial effect of the aronia shell extract not based on these properties. The Aronia shell extract is thus advantageous over a wide acidic to neutral pH range antimicrobially active.
Also a direct injection into the body is possible. Preferred injections are the intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous Injection. The chosen one Type of administration depends on the indication to be administered Dose, individual-specific parameters, etc. in particular the different types of administration a site-specific therapy, minimizes side effects and reduces the dose of the drug. So is the shell extract intake due to diffusion processes through the skin for the treatment of dermatological diseases prefers. Absorption of the shell extract through the mucous membranes can for example, by dissolving in the mouth or mouthwash to fight done by thrush. Nosocomial infections can be induced by inhaling the shell extract be treated advantageously. Swallowing the peel extract is for administration of larger doses and the treatment of diseases of the intestinal tract or inflammatory Diseases as well as a swallowing or vaccination by injection.

Im Ergebnis wurden 1,5 kg eines sirupartigen Produktes mit einer Restfeuchte von etwa 35 % (w/v) erhalten (65 °Brix: 65 % lösliche Trockensubstanz im Schalenextrakt; pH 4,1).to Preparation of the aronia shell extract was 40 kg of aronia berries with water at 40-50 ° C washed and for cell disruption with the enzyme Fructozyme MB (R) with stirring treated.
