Abstract

Verfahren zum Verbinden mindestens zweier Bauteile aus einem thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoff, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zu verbindenden Bauteile miteinander vernäht werden.

Description

  • Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren der im Oberbegriff des ersten Anspruchs genannten Art.
  • Aus der nicht vorveröffentlichten deutschen Patentanmeldung DE 10 2004 013 546 A1 ist es bekannt, zwei Dünnbleche mittels Nähen zu verbinden. Auch ist es daraus bekannt, Sandwichbleche zu vernähen. Als Faden wird ein Edelstahlfaden vorgeschlagen.
  • Dieses Verfahren eignet sich zum Verbinden von Dünnblechen oder Sandwichblechen. Es lässt sich jedoch zum Verbinden von Bauteilen aus thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoffen nicht anwenden.
  • Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, ein Verfahren zum Verbinden zweier Enden eines oder mehrerer Bauteile aus einem thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoffes aufzuzeigen, bei dem in der Verbindungsstelle eine hohe Festigkeit erzielt wird.
  • Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch die Merkmale des ersten Anspruchs gelöst. Durch das Vernähen wird eine wesentlich höhere Festigkeit als das bisher übliche Verbindungsverfahren, Kleben oder Schweißen,erzielt, da bei beiden Verfahren nur der thermoplastische Anteil und nicht wie beim Nähen auch das Fasergelege oder Gewebe miteinander verbunden werden. Damit erhält man wesentlich bessere mechanische Eigenschaften in der Fügenaht.
  • Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren lässt sich auch vorteilhafterweise dann anwenden, wenn die zu verbindenden Enden vorher geklebt oder verschweißt wurden. Dadurch wird eine nochmalige Erhöhung der mechanischen Kennwerte erzielt, weil auch die Fasern in der Fügestelle miteinander verbunden werden.
  • Die Unteransprüche stellen vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung dar.
  • Durch das Erwärmen gemäß Anspruch 2 wird das Nähen wesentlich erleichtert. Zudem wird verhindert, dass der verwendete Faden durch Ausbrechungen des thermoplastischen Materials an der Nahtstelle beschädigt wird.
  • Neben den in Anspruch 3 genannten Heizverfahren können auch noch andere geeignete Heizverfahren zur Anwendung gelangen, d.h. das Verfahren wird sinnvollerweise auf die Eigenschaften des thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoffes abgestimmt.
  • Da sich thermoplastische Faserverbundwerkstoffe bei Erwärmen ausdehnen, ist es sinnvoll, diese Ausdehnung beim Abkühlen durch Formpressen wieder rückgängig zu machen.
  • Im Folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand eines bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiel näher erläutert. In der einzigen Abbildung ist schematisiert der erfindungsgemäße Nähvorgang dargestellt.
  • In der einzigen Figur werden die Enden 1 und 2 zweier Bauteile 3 und 4 aus thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoff mittels Überlappnaht miteinander verbunden.
  • Hierzu dient die Nähmaschine 5, die mit Hilfe eines Fadens 6, der entsprechend dem Material des Faserverbundwerkstoffs ausgewählt wurde.
  • Um das Vernähen erleichtern, werden vor dem Vernähen die beiden zu verbindenden Enden 1 und 2 mittels einer Heizstation 7 erwärmt.
  • Je nach Art des Faserverbundwerkstoffes kann als Heizung eine Strahlungsheizung, eine Kontaktheizung, und bei Carbonfasern mit Metalleinlegem auch eine Induktionsheizung oder Mikrowelle vorgesehen werden.
  • Über nicht dargestellte Vorschubeinrichtungen werden die zu vernähenden Bauteile durch die Heizstation 7 und zur Nähmaschine 5 geführt. Aufgrund des erweichten Thermoplasten kann die Nähnadel sehr einfach die zu verbindenden Bauteilenden vollständig durchdringen und so auch die eingebetteten Gewebe wie bei einem üblichen Nähverfahren vernähen.
  • Nach dem Nähprozess erstarren die erwärmten Bereiche der zu verbindenden Enden wieder, wobei über nicht dargestellte weitere Anpressrollen dafür Sorge getragen wird, dass die ursprüngliche, d.h. die Bauteilstärke vor dem Erwärmen, wieder erreicht wird.
  • Dieser Prozess kann problemlos vollautomatisch durchgeführt werden.
  • Unter Bauteile im Sinne der Erfindung werden auch Halbzeuge und fertige Bauteilen, bei denen das Verbinden der letzte Fertigungsschritt ist, verstanden.
  • Durch das erfindungsgemäße Vernähen erreicht man ein Bauteil oder ein Halbzeug ohne optische Änderung in der Fügenaht mit wesentlich verbesserten mechanischen Eigenschaften in der Fügenaht als sie durch Kleben oder Verschweißen der zu verbindenden Enden zu erzielen ist.
  • Darüber hinaus ist es möglich, das erfindungsgemäße Nähverfahren auch zusätzlich zum Kleben oder Schweißen der zu verbindenden Enden anzuwenden, um deren Festigkeit weiter zu erhöhen.
  • Selbstverständlich kann das beschriebene Verfahren auch dann angewandt werden, wenn zwei Bauteile nicht an ihren Enden miteinander zu verbinden sind, sondern in anderen Bereichen eine Verbindung erforderlich ist.

Claims (5)

  1. Verfahren zum Verbinden mindestens zweier Bauteile aus einem thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoff, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zu verbindenden Bauteile miteinander vernäht werden.
  2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zu verbindenden Bauteile vor dem Vernähen erwärmt werden.
  3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zu verbindenden Bauteile zumindest in ihrem zu verbindenden Bereich mittels Induktion oder Infrarotstrahlern erwärmt werden.
  4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die erwärmten Bereiche in ihre ursprüngliche Bauteilstärke gepresst werden.
  5. Verfahren nach einem der vorangegangenen Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Nähfaden ein Faden aus Glasfasern und/oder Carbonfasern verwendet wird.
