Variometer with movable ferromagnetic core For variometers
with movable ferromagnetic core, which is used to change the inductance in the
The inside of the variometer coil is immersible, it often causes difficulties
to realize the required ratio of the greatest inductance to the smallest inductance.
For this purpose, the immersion core of the variometer has been made M or U-shaped,
wherein the tubular bobbins are attached to the yoke, while the legs
of the plunger core can be immersed in the coils at different depths. The coils will be
on the ends facing away from the yoke, it is much longer than the coils themselves
sized bobbin so that the bobbins are clean when the core is pulled out
Air-core coils and iron-closed coils when the core is immersed in the end position
represent. However, such core shapes are because of their complicated design and
difficult assembly unsuitable for mass production; because with such variometers
the core movement must be a straight-line movement, that of a special guidance
requirement. This fact applies particularly to those used in radio receivers or the like
Variometers aggravate the weight, as it is with these devices with regard to a
economic production is desired, with the necessary inductance variation
to achieve simply constructed variometers of small dimensions.
The invention is based on the under the name immersion core variometer
known variometers of the simplest design, in which a preferably cylindrical
ferromagnetic core is immersed in a coil, in particular a cylinder coil. According to the invention
are to increase the range of variation of the inductance, in particular by
an inductance ratio of the order of magnitude for tuning in the medium wave range
of 1: 14, directly on the spool two in the axial direction of the spool
extending rods, e.g. B. of extruded ferrite, or by adhesive. Like.
attached, the length of which corresponds approximately to the length of the coil. Another possibility
The fastening consists in the rods together with the coil with a thread or with
to be wrapped in a ribbon. The cross section of the invention on the variometer coil
The rods to be attached and their length depend on the required range of variation
the inductance.
Teile. The attachment of such rods in the immediate vicinity of the coils is
although known per se, namely for magnetic shielding and primarily for
Influence of the characteristic curve of the inductance depending on the immersion depth
of the kernel, but not directly to increase the range of variation of the
Inductance. The particular advantage of the solution according to the invention lies on the one hand
in the simplicity and cheapness of the parts used and on the other hand in the
Possibility of retrofitting these parts to known types of variometers
to be able to. Another benefit is the avoidance of any additional moving
Parts.
verklebt sein.According to a further development of the inventive concept, at one end
The variometer coil is a disk or the like made of ferromagnetic material.
The disc can be connected to the ends of the rods or to the pipe end, e.g. B.
be glued.
The invention and related details are illustrated in FIG.
1 and 2 explained for example.
The variometer coil 2 is attached to a tubular insulating support 1,
which has the length l. When it is moved according to arrow 3
A cylindrical core immersed in the interior of the coil 2 is denoted by 4 and
expediently consists of ferrite or carbonyl iron. Its length L corresponds to that
of coil 2. A practical embodiment of such a variometer had a
Ratio of the smallest to the largest inductance of 1: 6.5. This variation in inductance
is not sufficient to use such a variometer for a radio receiver, for example
to be able to vote without switching over the medium wave range.
In FIG. 2, the variometer according to FIG. 1 is given the corresponding reference numerals
shown, whose range of variation is expanded in the manner according to the invention.
Immediately on the spool 2 are two rods running in the axial direction of the spool
5, preferably
made of ferrite or carbonyl iron, attached to their
Length corresponds approximately to the length l of the coil 2. The left ends of the rods 5 will be
by a disk & or by a rod made of ferromagnetic material
tied together. It has been found that with only two such rods without use
a disk 6, the inductance variation ratio given above to 1
: 14 can improve. This variation ratio is for tuning a radio receiver
Sufficient over the medium wave range. It has also been shown that by
the attachment of rods the course of the curve, which the inductance is a function of
from the core position, is not influenced and that the coil quality over
remains approximately constant over the entire range of variation of the inductance.
