Description
The previously common flashing light emitters for motor vehicles work with bimetallic strips or hot wire relays. For advertising purposes, time clocks have also been used to control the flashing times and the drive of the control device is derived from the large third wheel or fourth wheel. It is to special constructions of specially equipped for that purpose control advertising clocks, which are usually formed SO 1 so as to enable the generation of flashing light while ao adjustable times. For the control of the flashing light in motor vehicles, such control clocks are generally unsuitable because of the great structural complexity. It is true that flashing light generators for motor vehicles have also been equipped with an electromagnetically operated balance wheel specially provided for this purpose, but these devices, like the most commonly used bimetal and hot wire relays, have the disadvantage of an undesirably complex and expensive design. It has also been proposed to use the balance wheel of an electrically driven timer as a flasher light transmitter in motor vehicles. The essence of the invention, on the other hand, consists in the fact that in motor vehicles with a built-in timer, the flashing contacts are actuated by a wheel of the gear train of the timer of the car. This creates a particularly simple and reliable flashing light control for motor vehicles that can be used in conventional motor vehicle time clocks and that ensures a constant flashing frequency.
The S expensive contacts for the flashing light of the motor vehicle are carried by contact spring arms 1 and 2. The contact arm 2 is connected at its end extended beyond the contact point to an insulating piece 3 on which a wheel 4 of the timer provided in the motor vehicle engages. The contact spring arm 2, which is moved in a constant cycle by the teeth of the wheel 4, carries the contact of the flashing light transmitter for motor vehicles together with the moved contact arm 2 in an insulating piece 5 for making contact
