Der Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist eine Art velutirte und wasserdichte Tapete,
bei welcher die Velutirung anstatt durch Velutirwolle, durch sehr feinen Sand von verschiedenen
Farben, deren jede für sich aufgestreut, hervorgebracht wird. Der Sand wird nach einem
neuen, nachstehend beschriebenen Verfahren gefärbt und auf das, mit einem geeigneten
Firnifs mittelst Hand- oder Maschinenformen bedruckte, wasserdichte Papier in ähnlicher

Es wird bei diesem Verfahren zum Färben des Sandes in. der Hauptsache auf die Beseitigung

hergestellt, welche getrocknet und mit siedendem Wasser Übergossen, in -ein feines Pulver
zerfällt. Wiederholtes Waschen in siedendem Wasser reinigt dieses Pulver von den überschüssigen
und gesundheitsschädlichen Farbstoffen, ohne die Intensität der Farbentöne zu

übrigen kann die Fabrikation nach bekannter Weise durchgeführt werden. Aufser zur Tapetenfabrikation,
findet der, wie beschrieben, gefärbte Sand noch Anwendung als Verzierung an Gardinenkasten, Goldleisten, Firmenschildern etc.,
