Die Zentraleinheit dient dann dazu um Änderungen einzugeben und zu speichern, wobei die Änderungen in bestimmten Abständen über Schnittstellen, z. B. Kabel an die transportablen Einheiten übertragen werden. Die Informationen werden dem Kunden per Display oder per Sprache übermittelt, wobei die Information aus der Ortsangabe oder der Ortsangabe und eine Wegbeschreibung besteht.
