The invention relates to an arrangement for determining the flow rate of fine-grained bulk materials in a pneumatic or hydraulic suspension through pipe systems and other aggregates by means of non-contact measurement by capacitive probes. The transit time between the output signals of two measuring channels determines a correlator which calculates the speed of the natural fluctuations over the known distance of two measuring capacitors on the measuring tube.
As is known, solid particles in the suspension of multiphase flows cause fluctuations in the solids concentration due to the statistical distribution of these particles. These fluctuations in the density of media cause in a measuring tube, on which face the capacitor plates of a measuring capacitor, fluctuations in the dielectric and thus the promotion of proportional capacitance fluctuations, which converts a subsequent electronic assembly into corresponding voltage fluctuations.
A correlation speed measuring system especially for gas-solid suspensions using capacitive probes was presented by Boeck, Th. In "Automation Engineering Practice" Munich 28 (1986) Issue 10, pp 496-502 "Correlative flow measurement of pneumatically conveyed bulk materials". This publication describes the basic measuring principle. Paired electrodes arranged on top of the measuring tube face each other and detect fluctuations in the flow over the pipe cross-section that are characteristic of the flow. Smallest capacitance changes cause a measurement signal from which the correlator determines the transit time.
Irr wesentlichen funktioniert diese Sonde folgern.^ maßen:One way of constructing capacitive probes has been set out comprehensively in DE-PS 3433148 C2. Irr essentially this probe works conclude.
An electrical voltage source feeds a signal of any shape in a common donor electrode, which are spatially associated with a plurality of sensor electrodes so that they form with the donor electrode capacitors whose dielectric constantly changes with the media-dependent fluctuation of the solid particles. The sensor electrodes lie next to each other in pairs and are separated by a very narrow gap. The measuring signals in the form of capacitance fluctuations are converted by electronic means into voltage fluctuations. From the signals of a sensor electrode pair, the difference is formed, frees the useful signal from the carrier and cut to the fluctuation signal frequency range to be analyzed.
For safe operation of the difference signal formation, it is necessary that both operational amplifier stages, which are the first electronic modules in the signal path of the probe, work symmetrically. For this reason, a new adjustment of these modules is required after the change of the test section. In addition, there is the possibility of the influence of external disturbances, such as temperature, humidity u. Ä. On the electronic components of the subtractor and the two upstream first operational amplifier, resulting in the possibility of changing the Meßfehk i results. Another circuit-related disadvantage of this arrangement is that the output signals of the first operational amplifier are composed of the superposition of the high-frequency signal carrier and the delivery-related useful signal. The sum of both signals when completely filled with medium delivery pipe must be below the Ausleuei ing limit, so there is no signal limit.
The aim of the invention is to keep the technical effort in the flow rate determination compared to known methods low while eliminating external factors influencing the electronics assembly.
The object of the invention is to propose an arrangement for detecting the flow rate of two- and multi-phase flows in pipe systems by means of non-contact measurement by capacitive probes. According to the invention, the arrangement for determining the flow rate of two-phase and multi-phase flows in pipe systems consists of a probe with at least two sensor electrodes, which is diametrically opposite a sensor electrode on the circumference of a conveyor pipe. Voltages of opposite phase are applied to the sensor electrodes. An electronic amplification of the received signals takes place at the sensor electrode. Two sensor electrodes are each combined into a pair. Each additional pair is fed with a voltage of a different frequency. The capacitive probe according to the invention carries out the formation of the signal difference in a nonelectronic way in the measuring tube itself and therefore requires only a signal repeater whose gain can be very large in the interest of a large sensitivity. Due to the internal difference formation, the electronic difference formation becomes unnecessary, which results in a further reduction of the technical effort.
The invention will be explained below by way of example. The accompanying figure shows the most important components of the capacitive probe. According to the invention, the sensor electrode pairs 2, 3 and 2 ', 3' and diametrically opposite the sensor electrodes 4, 4 'are located on the circumference of a conveying tube 1. AC voltage generators 5, 5 'feed the sensor electrodes directly or via an inverter stage 6, 6' with sinusoidal voltages of different frequencies. This generator voltage is also used to clock the phase-sensitive rectifier 7, T. The sensor electrodes 4, 4 'receive the effects of the two dielectric displacement currents, the magnitude of which depends on the nature of the flowing dielectric currently in the area of action of the respective capacitor and the direction of its action on the polarity of the respective sensor electrode voltage. Due to the antiphase nature of the encoder voltages, subtraction occurs. Only in the case of existing differences between the two sub-capacitances, which arise as a result of fluctuations due to conveyance, does a signal ever occur at the sensor electrode 4 or 4 ', which is then amplified in an electronic amplifier 8 or 8'.
The phase-sensitive rectifier selects the useful signal out of the composite signal and simultaneously suppresses signals from adjacent sensor electrode pairs. Subsequent bandpasses 9, 9 'clip the fluctuation signal frequency range to be analyzed. By means of the evaluation of the maximum of the cross-correlation function, a correlator 10 arranged downstream of the capacitive probes determines the transit time of the output signals, from which the speed of the multiphase flow can be determined.
