Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing a raw material mixture for glass production. For the preparation of certain glasses, z. B. Braunglaeser, raw material mixtures are used containing processed blast furnace slag. It should be avoided by agglomeration, at least a portion of the raw material mixture, dusting. Likewise to be created by a suitable process technology in a simple way, a homogeneous mixture of raw materials. Therefore, the treated slag containing the species-specific seed material, possibly with other raw materials of the raw material mixture, which can act in part as a binder, is suspended and introduced into the fluidized bed with additional seed material.
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a raw material mixture for glass production, which contains the raw materials at least partially agglomerated and is used in the slag. Slag is particularly blast furnace slag. But it can also be used a slag mixture. Such raw material mixtures are used in particular for the production of brown glass.
There are already known methods of producing brown glass in which larger quantities of blast furnace slag are used to form a chromophore (see, for example, DR-PS 599563, GB-PS 1141525, US-PS 3326702). Also described in DE-PS 2 326 833 a process for the production of brown glass, which allows through the use of sulfur-containing blast furnace slag and ferrous boiler slag inexpensive starting materials in a reduced number and less harmful to the environment than the previously known methods. In addition to the coloring, the slag serves to supply the necessary lime and refining. The slags are generally used in ground form, which occur when inserting the raw material mixture in a smelting aggregate considerable dust and in the bunkers caking and encrustation.
It is also known to partially or completely granulate the raw material mixtures prior to their use to prevent or reduce the formation of dust. It has therefore already been proposed to stimulate even mash or slag dusts with the addition of water to agglomerate and supply the resulting agglomerate the melt process again. However, as a result of high binding forces of the finest grain fraction, large agglomerates are formed whose admixture with the glass batch results in an inhomogeneous raw material mixture unfavorably influencing the melting and refining process.
To avoid this, the large agglomerates must be broken up again in an additional operation and preferably recycled as seed material in the granulation process. But this additional equipment and process steps are required.
The invention is intended to avoid the disadvantages mentioned, improve working and living conditions as well as environmental protection and lead to working time, energy and material savings or to increase the quality of the melt.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a process for producing a raw material mixture for the production preferably colored glasses, on the one hand the advantageous dust-free use of ground slag, especially blast furnace slag, for the melting and refining of the glass and on the other hand, the sufficient homogeneity of the raw material mixture without the use of additional technologies.
T.T.
Außerdem wird mindestens ein Rohstoff des Rohstoffgemisches zusätzlich als Keimmaterial zugeführt, das die gleiche Korngröße wie das arteigene Keimmaterial aufweist und mit diesem die Erzeugung von Agglomeraten der gewünschten Korngröße ermöglichtAccording to the invention, this object is achieved in that the slag is treated so that it contains its own seed material that the slag is suspended and that the slag depending on the requirements of the agglomerate diameter with at least one of the raw materials of the mixture whose grain size with the of the species-specific seed material substantially agrees, additionally introduced as a seed material in a fluidized bed and agglomerated in the fluidized bed and dried. By using the prepared, preferably ground slag, the binding forces in the agglomerate are increased and the performance characteristics, especially the abrasion resistance of the agglomerate, are improved. The treated slag contains at least 15% of grain fractions, which are between 0.16 and 1.5 mm and are introduced into the fluidized bed in suspension as a species-specific seed material. In addition, at least one raw material of the raw material mixture is additionally supplied as a seed material, which has the same particle size as the species-specific seed material and with this allows the production of agglomerates of the desired particle size
Auf diese Weise werden homogene Rohstoffgemische gewonnen. In this way, homogeneous mixtures of raw materials are obtained.
Because of the grinding of the slag, it is generally sufficient to suspend them in Waoser, which then acts as a binder at the same time, and to dilute the suspension thus obtained in the fluidized bed. If the ground slag is added with components of the raw material mixture before atomization, it is advantageous if one of the constituents is a water-soluble binder. Such a binder can also be added to the suspension if it contains only ground slag suspended in water.
To achieve the desired glass quality, it is advantageous to size the specific components of a glass cake so that together with the slag, they give the desired glass composition. A favorable variant of the process according to the invention results if the fastest sedimenting constituent of the raw material batch is used as the additional seed material for glass production and if the other constituents are injected together with the ground slag as a suspension into the fluidized bed In certain cases, it may be advantageous to displace the seed material prior to introduction into the fluidized bed with at least part of the insoluble constituents contained in the raw material batch.

The slag used is ground blast-furnace slag with the main constituents SiO 2 , Fe 2 O], Al 2 Oj, CaO and MgO, which is suspended in the water. In addition, kaolin, limestone, boric acid, fluorspar, and sodium sulfate are introduced into the suspension. The treated slag contains 80% finest-grained particles with a particle size of less than 0.16nm. The remaining 20% grain fractions are between 0.16mm and 1.5mm; in this particle size range is also the grain size of the species-specific and additional germ material. The suspension with the species-specific seed material and the additional seed material pass through the granulation process in a fluidized bed with the following proportions:
