Abstract
The invention relates to a pastoesic agent for pickling austenitic Edelstahloberflaechen, in particular for the removal of corrosion products, scale layers and tarnish after welding. The aim of the invention is a means for known pickling process, which has a good long-term stability and ensures a significant improvement in occupational safety. By combining aluminum nitrate, magnesium nitrate, calcium nitrate and hydrofluoric acid, a suitable pasty mordant is obtained.
Description
The invention relates to a means for acid pickling of austenitic stainless steel surfaces, in particular after welding in apparatus and apparatus construction.
B. Polysaccharide) eingesetzt. For the removal of corrosion products as well as the scale layers and tarnish produced during welding, metals are pickled with various acid mixtures. For austenitic stainless steels, preference is given to using mordant mixtures based on hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid. In DE-AS 1276880, DE-AS 2413870 and DE-OS 3222522 pasty Beizgemische of 0.5 to 15% hydrofluoric acid and 5 to 30% nitric acid are described. The paste form is the most technically favorable form of application, especially for external surfaces. Barium sulphate, aluminum oxide, calcium fluoride and some acid-resistant organic compounds (eg polysaccharides) are used as pasty thickeners for such acid mixtures.
The disadvantage of said admixture mixtures is that in the very aggressive hydrofluoric acid-nitric acid mixture, an inert thickener must be introduced homogeneously. In the case of inorganic substances, very high additions (20 to 80%) of solids are required, with sedimentation or inhomogeneities occurring. In the case of organic thickeners, additions of less than 10% are sufficient. However, the organic matter is more or less rapidly decomposed by the high content of nitric acid to form nitrous gases. These pickling pastes thus have no long-term stability.
The aim of the invention is a pasty agent for pickling austenitic stainless steel surfaces with a good long-term stability, which ensures a significant improvement in occupational safety.
The invention has for its object to use by a convenient combination of known inorganic substances without the use of nitric acid and solid thickening a long-term stable pickling paste for treating austenitic stainless steel surfaces.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that an aqueous solution of aluminum nitrate and Erdalkalinitrat (in a weight ratio of 2.7: 1 to 3.5: 1) is added with stirring with 40% strength he hydrofluoric acid. As alkaline earth nitrates magnesium and / or potassium nitrate are preferably used. In the addition of hydrofluoric acid, the mixture is heated to 40 to 80 0 C. After cooling, surprisingly, forms a very stable paste, which reaches its final consistency after about 20 hours.
The paste is still unchanged after 6 months. The high long-term stability is achieved only by the combined use of hydrofluoric acid, aluminum and Erdalkalinitrat.
The very simple preparation of pickling paste from solutions also simplifies the packaging. The filling takes place in plastic containers.
The paste can be easily applied to the surface to be treated with a brush. The pickling process takes place at room temperature within 15 to 60 minutes. Subsequently, the pickling paste can be easily rinsed with water and leaves a completely bare metal surface.
The pickling pastes according to the invention can be composed as follows:
